cymbal stands look ridiculous? i think racks look ridiculous and they cost a ridiculous amount of money.

@ nope lol. A decent stand is around $100. Take up so much space and can to customize the exact way you want it unless you add more weight to the stands. On a rack you can move them around any way you want. I used to use stands and then switched to a rack. Now I use a rack for my 3 toms three splashes. And two crashes. With just 2 legs. Vs the 15 tripod legs it so much better on space. But on my sides I use 2/3 boom stands and I love it. As far as cost I’d say you break even. I bought used rack for 200$ shipped. With 2 boom stands and 3 Tom attachments and 3 Tom arms already. So it’s not really about price. It’s about saving space and having the ability to customize: )

@@jaystechroom they sell 2 new boom/straight stands like mine 4 about $50 every day. ive never seen a used rack by itself like urs 4 $200 let alone w attachments. like urs or gibraltar r the best looking racks but they still make a set look like theyre in a cage. the only advantage to a rack is maybe if its really windy but w the extra weight on my stands thats prob a non issue for me too, except 4 my china; ha.

@ check out music go round. Reverb. Guitar center. Used. The prices are right there. Plus the way you’re stacking 7/8 things on one stand. That makes no sense and can’t be the way you want to play.

@@jaystechroom huh? cheaper makes no sense? what diff does it make if i add items to cymbal stands or any other way? face it, ur rack doesnt help the look of ur set.

yeah, then i found 2 more mics to cotton ball to make it even better.

thanks again, i cotton balled what seems to b 2 more mics on my phone so now it sounds much better.

@@sticksbass glad it worked out for ya. Different textures of fluffy material have different sound damping properties. Try different stuff here and there if ya wanna experiment

thanks... didnt u say that he told u "cameraman, shoot thyself."? i agree that he had insights unlike ive ever seen anyone else express but he was just another sinful being. remember how he broke loraine's heart? i sent him a letter about that so he sent me a nasty letter in response. i was so disillusioned by that 3 mo ttr stay i couldnt meditate anymore. im hoping to get back into it. i was able to do the 7 min recently.

@@sticksbass Hi! I stayed 3 months at the ranch. I think it was during the summer of 1983. I think Roy was born in 1928. Not to make excuses for him, but that fact is that people from years ago were much more free to make strong and rude remarks, namely remarks that would cut people down to size. I do believe this is a factor in his comment, "cameraman shoot thyself." It's very old school. Roy was old school. When he said that insult to me, I didn't react much. Yes, I suspose I was a little hurt, but more of a curiousity that he said it. I think his ego, pride, and some anger were at play. All because of my noisey camera equipment! lol

@@triciapowell1305 i have over 60 vids... i havent made any vids in years. i still have drums but dont set them up... the live and studio versions of drc are different. i would often play the live version beat for fun.

hey! thanks; you too! I watch them all the time; ha. ive been working 6 days a week. I think this shut down is nuts. the only people dying are those w other serious health probs... I still have my drums but I haven't set them up for years. I had everybody lined up for that next collab and I had it down good but never recorded it. I don't remember who the guitarist was going to be.

@@sticksbass well.......as it turns out....I added a Roland set to my list of gear and I have been practicing drums for the past year :) I still suck but its fun as heck!

thanks. theres one thing i hear the bass doing a lot in the original that i hadnt noticed. a couple eighth notes of D from whatever the 7th fret up from E is and you can do DAD too... know what i mean? supposedly youre not supposed to use as many open strings as i do. i guess bc then you have to do more muting but its easier for me and saves on fret wear; lol.

@@sticksbass well, i had to come back to this lol.. slowed it to 0.5. WHILE i listened to the isolated bass track. Tabs don't work for me much anymore, like when i first started. Some songs i initially learned on tabs, i had to relearn, and i found that much more difficult to do after playing it wrong for so long. .. So still learning where all the notes are and all, trying without staring at the fret board. .. Tabs were helpful when i started cause i think when many of us start we just want to learn how to play our favorite songs--so it gets us going anyway. .. But after while one wants to know the bass on a deeper level i suppose. - So now learning i mostly watch and watch others play, then i watch live performance of the original if possible, then i listen to the isolated bass track.. from there can usually put most of it together and practice. At least there is like utube, concert footage on demand, ability to slow it all down.. information everywhere. Easier now than when it used to be, when one had to just listen and do it all by ear. I really appreciate this video... open strings or closed.. whatever gets the sound lol :)

if everybody was that worried everybodys channel would be like yours.

*Sticksbass* It may be note for note but it isn't like the original. It sounds to hard. You have to be lighter with your sticks. It isn't like you are playing Black Diamond or Deuce this is Shock Me and it is a light jazzy piece. Peter didn't play the drums on the studio piece but did in concert and he played them just as the song called for, light and jazzy.

it has nothing to do w how im playing my drums are just tuned diff than the original; furthermore, as far as i know, nobody has ever heard pc play 'jazzy' w kiss... how do you know that wasnt pc in the studio version?

*Sticksbass* Then you don't listen to early kiss that much. Listen to the drum beat to Mainline, 100,000 Years has a big band kind of march to it. Peter wasn't a straight ahead rock drummer at all. Speaking of drums maybe it is the drums you are using that make it sound different. But I still think you have angry sticks. Black Diamond was a street tough gritty angry song that needed hard angry drums and Peter played them along with his gritty vocals extremely well but also knew how to tone it down for Shock Me and Mainline as well. Have a good one. . .

evidently youve never even heard jazz drumming. the drumming in mainline or 100000 yrs is nothing like jazz drumming.
