Northumbria Musical Theatre Society!

Northumbria Musical Theatre Society was founded in 2008, meaning this is the fifteenth year of our student-ran society!
Every year we put on three shows - a gala, a fundraiser and a musical. Previously, we have done various musical productions such as Into the Woods, The Addams Family, Footloose, and most recently, Carrie, which was a huge success for our society! In our gala and fundraiser shows, we have covered many songs from all different kinds of musicals, from fan favourites such as Hairspray, Les Misérables and Wicked, to hidden gems such as Curtains, Sideshow and Ordinary Days.

Tavern Song (Thai Mol Pyas) - The Hunchback of Notre Dame | IUMTF 2024
PERFORMERS: Liss Lucia, Cole Bartlett, Bethany Winter, Daniel Yellow, Kailum James, PJ Millar, Millie Rowbottom, Henry Gould, Richard Gardner, Bea Lynne, Safah Alazzawi, Grace Mansfield
On 20th of April, our competition troupe entered the Inter University Musical Theatre Festival, competing against five other universities.
This year’s theme was “It’s Good To Be Bad: Fiends and Foes” - one of our chosen numbers had to correlate this theme.
Our solo performance of “World Burn” by Millie won the award for Best Solo at the festival.
