The lack of jobsite safety, specifically fall protection should be a major concern. No form of fall protection is present so this is something I would suggest addressing right away to avoid potential worker injuries and/or OSHA citations.

I don't understand why roofers rip out roofing and leave the nails. The tearoff shovel pulls nails too. I would usually consider removing tearoff and leaving nails then go back and pull all the nails , like , an unnecessary double tearoff. That seems to be mostly what people do. That technique creates more unnecessary work. It's way easier to pull the nails with the tearoff.

these boys did a fine job. sure they ripped alittle differently but than again all roofers do it differently. Its a hard job also guys, thats why you ain't ever going to see "college roofers" doing this work, they stick to painting cuase its alot easier

Tar roofing is probably the best roofing out there. But hell I hate it. The workers that work it are great at it and I mean extremely skilled and strong 💪 but no matter how much saftey we teach them there's always that on guy who gets burned. Neways this is a great roofing system. It last for a long time and its great for leaks. Neways the new single ply and tpo are the alternatives to the hot mop process. And no torch down I hate it its to slow and leaves not as much money

Use a roofing hoe to pull the nails lots faster, as far as Meioxacn doing it quicker I always worked them under the table but here is the kicker they show up with plenty of help so job gets done quicker. We could talk about how can they make money with that many hands working? Answer is they are willing to work for less but if they do a roof a day that might work out, but I doubt it.

Roofing is dangerous work. I recommend always hiring a pro.

At my school gym there is a tar roof and the first roof was bulid in 1996 when it was opened and then in 2013 it came of during a storm and the new roof took so unusally short time to bulid. Why?

S-tiles are awesome but such a pain in the ass to install lol. As for the underlayment, its supposed to be more a vapor barrier than a water proofer. The tiles can get condensation underneath them and the underlayment is meant to keep that moisture off the bare plywood. It can also act as a waterproofer in case of a broken tile but its not 100% guaranteed that it wont leak since its penetrated everywhere by nails. Pretty much its better than nothing.

It makes no sense to lay down a waterproof membrane, then drive a nail through it.

Good roofing practices here in British Columbia is to have the skylights a minimum of 8 inches above finished roof surface. Must not snow ever there. My 2 cents besides all the obvious safety infractions.
