I love that it's now a trend that the villains are the one who maintain peace and order. Following the rules correcting what was wrong. And the heroes are now you're stereotypical trouble makers that is trying to find their purpose in life..... By possibly fucking everything up as much as possible and praying to who ever they worship it will all work out in the end. And by the end of the show everyone is angry on the villain who is just doing his job and trying to prevent as much catastrophic events the heroes can potentially make as possible
That's why I love the end. Scarab is punished because he had break the rules at the end, but his fate is not terrible because he was just doing his job in the first place
No? That's just how reality is. The "peace keeper" are never just that. They're always a monopoly of violence for a higher power that cares little for the well being of the controlled. And often those who take such jobs are violent brutes who do it to feed their ego and power trip. Scarab is a prime example of that.
I think people downplay way too much at the end he tried to destroy Fionna and Cake's universe out of spite even if his boss had told him to stop, alongside the fact the whole thing he's doing this in the first place is more because he hates Prismo, with his job being a mean to an end.
I honestly love how legitimately terrified he is after seeing Golb. He knows who Golb is and how dangerous he is. Sure, he’s fused with Betty, but he doesn’t know that, and even if he did, that doesn’t make the complete and utter monster that is Golb any less dangerous.
