How To Change The Rear Gearbox Mount On A MK2 Ford C max
Hi. Thanks for this - I'm new to Multimetres. Looking at this on Amazon due to your comments, but the pictures show the red lead in the far left hole, and black in the middle, and another picture for car battery, the red is in the middle and black in the right hand hole? But you have them differently? I just want to buy it to test my Car Battery? Can you clarify please? Thank you
Thanks for watching multimeters can be set up differently for most meters the middle hole is the common/ground it's were the black lead should be the right hand hole is normal for reading voltage and continuity so for instance to read voltage you would put the black lead in the middle hole and the red lead in the right hand one then put the black probe on the negative termal of the battery and the red to the positive and the left hand hole is typically for for amps if there is something that you would like to test about your battery if so let me know and I'll explain how you can do it
@@dobbyrepairs That's great, thank you very much for your help! I shall get it bought :)
No worries if you get stuck drop me a message and I'll do my best to help
@@dobbyrepairs Thanks!!
cheers doesn’t look too difficult now i know my bulbs ok but least i know now if they ever go in the future
It's a fairly simple job definitely worth knowing how to change them thanks for watching
@ yeah great video i have few problems with mine the child locks are locked on i want to get them off as inside back doors you can’t get out and electric mirrors don’t work and drivers side electric window don’t work nor does both of rear electric windows don’t work. Only electric window which goes down is the passager front window that works on passager side switch but doesn’t work on drivers side
It sounds like it could possibly be a problem with the drivers side switch given that all the problems you have said about go through that switch
@@dobbyrepairs i replace it 3 times brought switch panel 3 times and none of them have worked
I see the other thing that jumps out is a broken wire going to the switch most likely Spot would be between the door and car
This has to be the best instructional video on RUclips. Top guy!
Thank you for the comment and glad you found the video helpful
Great job👍 very helpful especially priming the system
Thank you and thanks for watching
Attach that to a power drill and hold on tight!! Hehe
Yeah they do fly on the end of a drill
chinguilingui?
Sorry I don't know what that means
Hi, is this the 1.6 petrol EcoBoost engine? 150 hp?
Hi its ti- vtc 105hp engine in this car
I ❤ this Box! The Head of the Ratchet is too big. Wera has a tiny Head.
I haven't gotten my hands on the wera version of this yet but it sounds like something I should check out thanks for the comment
Thx, you helped me a lot 👍🏼😃
I'm glad I could help thanks for watching
Excellent. Thank you for this useful video. I had almost given up replacing my key fob cover. This video is very straight forward with step by step instructions for both old & new cover. I am now happy with my new car key ☺️
Awesome I'm glad you found the video helpful 😁 thank you for watching
Great video, Dobby looks like there will be lots of interesting toolbox videos coming
Thanks I'm really looking forward to getting the videos out on the tools in this video
Awesome haul dobby, you were really spoilt looking forward to seeing your videos on the air compressor and the sealey tools 🔧
Thank you I was and I'm also looking forward to learning more about the air compressor setup and sharing what I learn with everyone
I wonder if you will get a drill or screwdriver that you can change the bits out like a drill
There are plenty of cool tools in the advent calendar I have a playlist with all the days that are out
mine was leaking i added a copper washer like on the sump... waiting for and see what happens
I'd be really interested to find out if that worked for you I know the switches have thread sealant on them when they are new so maybe that's a road to look down if the washer doesn't work please let me know if it works or not
I love the elf interactions in these videos can't wait to see what happens next . The Tool kit is coming together nicely I'll be back tomorrow to see the next one 😀
Thanks for watching I'm sure he will make more appearances before the end of the calendar Glad you're enjoying the series
Hi nice vid
Thank you 😄

You too 😀 🎄🎁
😂 that elf really flew off .
Haha 😂 that tickled me more than it should have
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Ur calendar box sizes are way smaller than Irish ones like dairy milk🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
A lot less edible too lol
Yours or Ireland
Mine I mean like tools but they don't taste good
Tysm
@ oh now I get it
Good job
Thanks 👍
This video was uploaded 8 months ago. Have there been any issues since you've had them. Would you recommend it?
I've had them for nearly a year now and they are still going strong no issues to report just a solid set of ratchets and yes I'd recommend them
Great video, Dobby it looks like a great kit. I've seen you use it loads. it's nice to have a video on it
Thank you it is a real good kit I've been so pleased with it
That's a nice-looking tool. I can't wait to see what's behind tomorrow's door
Thanks and Same here it'll be out at 9am tomorrow so don't go tune in for it
hi; helpful video thanks. what do you call those pin-changing tools you use to get the pins out ? I'm wondering where i would buy those from in order to try this method. thanks
I used 2 torx bits from a precision screwdriver set the sizes I use where T5 and T7 you can also use a small punch but the ones I have are too big so I had to make do the bits
Here is a link to the video I made on the screwdriver set ruclips.net/video/daK9nF8p2uU/видео.htmlfeature=shared

Looking forward to this, it looks like a great advent calendar, but I'm not ready for it to be Christmas
Yeah I'm hoping it's as good last year's one it and yeah kinda wish I could push Christmas back a few weeks
Awesome video. Dobby, keep them coming
Thank you for plenty more to come 👍
I’ve got a saxo, and it won’t go into 2nd, 4th or reverse. Could this fix that ? Thanks
It's worth looking at the linkage on it if possible have someone change the gears while you look at it see if it's moving freely and see if the bushes are worn out
have the same issue started today
@b10production51 it's definitely worth checking the linkage to see if it's worn out. Does it grind when you try to put into one of the gears ?
Great demo. Thank you
Thank you glad you enjoyed it 😀
Ídolo 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks
Thanks for taking time to do that, perfect instructions and saved trip to garage
Awesome glad the video helped thank for taking the time to comment 😁
I have the peugeot 206 hatchback wich has the same issue. What is the name for the smaller linkage? Can only find the long linkage online or separate/ not sold together
I believe it's called a short linkage I have only ever seen it sold in a set of all 3 parts if you drop me an email with your reg on it I'll help you find the right parts dobbyrepairs@gmail.com
A lot of these tools are Chinese they do the job but are not made for continuous heavy work the same stuff comes out of Aldi they are basically mechanical canon fodder in more stressed work situations I've bust a good few of these types of tools & I have been at it over 45 yrs in engineering work😉
You make a fair point these wouldn't be an everyday use type of tool but they are fairly sturdy and I bet you've used some great tools in your career
@@dobbyrepairs Yeah too many to mention & from across Europe I've had German Japanese American Australian etc & even some of them have died a death under stress 🙄😀👌
Awesome any recommendations on tools to try out ? And unfortunately stress can get to nearly anything
@@dobbyrepairs Depending on your budget I find Irwin/ US Pro /Neilson/ Wurth/ Excel Makita & Bosch etc are ok the old Britool gear still sold on ebay are decent tools for long life use & some modern ones are for light use jobs if you take for example car springs these are made lighter & weaker to cut down costs & their weight that's why so many of them break so easily its all down to cost I have tools going back 30+ yrs old & still do what they were made for its the way mechanical engineering has evolved nothing is built to last
Some of those brands I have used and I haven't used any brittools I'll try to get some try out thanks for the advice . I do agree things don't seem to be made to last anymore
Great video, glad you liked them, I use mine all the time. Is there any news on the merch ideas we discussed mate.
Thank you for the recommendation they are a good set and yes I've dropped you an email just now
is it okay to not put the brakes in service mode ?
On this model (MK1) there isn't a service model that I'm aware of and brakes are working perfectly I know on the later models do have a service mode
Do u turn the Piston in the brakeclaw clockwise or anti?
It does depend on the side of the car your doing for the left hand side it's clockwise and for the right hand side it's anticlockwise just make sure your hand brake is off otherwise it won't move at all
@@dobbyrepairs hallo i replacee the pads now i want to calibrate the handbrake it wont and now i got error code 555a
That's a strange code what year was the car made and I'll look into it for u
Great video Dobby I've had a problem with metal Mary my car she's just started randomly cutting out while driving so what I've done so far I've checked for vacuum leaks on the air intake no cracked hoses I've changed the battery as the electronics need a steady supply of 12 volts and my battery was failing I've also changed the crank position sensor as this can randomly cut out the car when faulty was only 10 ponds also changed the fuel filter also 10 pounds also as she's done 50 thousand miles and needed changing anyway I don't have a gauge to check the pressure on the fuel rail but the only thing left is the fuel pump or it could be the ignition switch as the cars 23 years old with the same switch it could be the connections worn out in that switch causing random power lose the coil pack I've changed and it's nothing to do with the plugs just hope it's not a fault in the ECU but I don't think that's it any ideas mate ? Fuel pumps are expensive so leaving that till last I thought you might want to do a video on cars that randomly stop in the future it would be helpful to people and make a good video keep up the good work mate 💯🤔👍
That's not fun it Sounds like you checked nearly everything you have checked the fuel pump relay And the temperature sensor if that's playing up it will make the car shut off to protect the engine but out of the ignition switch or fuel pump id do the switch first as it's more likely does it restart straight away after it cuts or doesn't it play up about starting again ?
@dobbyrepairs hi Dobby yes it's a pain but interesting the fuel relay is kicking in ok not faulty hmmm you say temp sensor do you mean oil temp sensor ? As I don't see an oil temp sensor on the car anywhere ? Unless it's a dual sensor with the oil level sensor which is next to the oil filter housing is the oil level sensor also incorporating the oil temp sensor 2 in one ? I've been thinking the oil temp sensor myself so I've. Put that in my phone and nothing comes up on oil temp sensor for the car 206 the car restarts straight away and no more problems for 20 or so miles till she does it again sometimes the warning light comes on sometimes not when it does come on she puts up a po300 code ( multiple cylinder misfire ) the oil level is also bang on just above half way on the stick with clean oil in I think you. Could be on the right lines with the temp sensor the dash temp sensor reads correct always your right an oil temp sensor if it has one ? would shut down the engine if faulty also the dash temp sensor yes I will change the ignition switch before the fuel pump good idea thanks a lot for your advise let me know if the 206 has an oil temp sensor thanks doing my head in trying to find that on the car automatic cars have that sensor normally lol was thinking the 206 might have one 🤔 you know your stuff mate good to talk to someone with vast knowledge on cars thanks so much for your help it's much appreciated 👍🤔💯
I did mean the engine coolant temp sensor which is fairly easy to test with a multimeter I believe the oil sensor is a 2 in one deal given the car restarts straight away makes me think that could still be the fuel pump relay I've had them fail under load and then be fine for a few miles then fail again the only other thing that I have thought of is bad fuel I don't think it's very likely considering you have changed the filter good luck hopefully you find the cause
@dobbyrepairs hi Dobby yes I thought it might be a 2 in one deal the oil level and oil temp sensor I might also change that sensor if all else falls! I see yes I will change the fuel pump relay I've not had problems with them myself they have failed or worked for me cheers for your advise on that it could be a possible cause then i would sooner change that than change the fuel pump only to find it's a bad behaving relay afterwards and only cheap to change nice one 👍i don't think there's any crap in the fuel as the car goes 20 odd miles then plays up unless it's crap recirculating but if all else falls I'll flush out the tank I'll change the relay tomorrow I think I'll also change that ignition switch also It must need changing after all those years switching on and off yeah thanks hopefully find out what it is with there being so many possibilities makes it hard to locate the problem pesky po300 code lol thanks again Dobby top man 👍🤔💯
It's a hard code to find a reason for as it's so vague but I like the way you have worked though all of the possibilities keep me updated on the progress hopefully metal Mary will be back up to full operating capacity soon
Good video mate and a top job. Think I'm gonna have to invest in one of them bearing puller tools. I just recently changed 2 wheel bearings on a focus and I took them to a local garage so they could press them out and back in. Charged me 40 quid only took the lad 10 minutes.
it's a great tool and fairly affordable at £60. £40 is cheaper than what the local garages round here would charge . I'm pretty sure it's the same job on the focus
Happy Halloween Dobby 🎃
Happy Halloween sebby 🎃
Happy Halloween 🎃 👻
Same to you!🎃
Great video, Dobby. Can't believe that's its first 5 spanner tool. Everything is so well explained. i feel like i could buy the tool and use it confidently. Thanks for sharing and keeping the great videos coming
Thank you for this comment I was a bit shocked when I realised it was the first 5 spanner tool but it definitely deserves to be made doing wheel bearings a lot easier
Fun video, Dobby just watched last years one again, too
Thanks glad you enjoyed it 😁
That’s a cool 🎃
Thank you
Brilliant idea for a pumpkin! 🎃
It would be great that yes perhaps radio controlled version next year lol funny the angle grinder and rotory tool came out made me laugh could car jack it up to working hight lol have a good day mate happy for the day now so funny 👍💯🤔
Thank you 🎃
Oh yeah I think a radio controlled pumpkin car would be awesome glad it made you happy
Hi Dobby I'm looking forward to seeing you fit the wheels and engine to it could you make the exhaust come out of the top like a truck exhaust lol great video mate top man 👍💯🤔
That's an awesome idea maybe for next year's Halloween 🎃 special 👍
Great video, dobby. You made it look very easy, especially with that tool. I can't wait for the toolbox video on it
Thank you . the tool is really good and makes the whole process so much simpler I'm hoping to have what's in my toolbox on it out on Tuesday
Can you share the size of wiper blades
Yeah the sizes are 20 inches for the drivers side,18 inches for the passenger side and 13 inches on the rear on this car hope that helps
