@@NuFishin I honestly have to try to stay away from that store. I've gotten a lot of self-discipline. Usually anytime I ride by one I go in. Now it's every other time I ride by one. You can find a lot of great things in there even other than fishing.

Lucky craft crank and jerkbait look nice. the Pineapple color looks sweet too. That's messed up with people switching the baits out. The fat CB was pretty sweet! Northern golden perch looked like it will have some nice flash!

How long a leader do you use? Do you use enough where it has to pass through the line guide?
@@mikebolan3068 I just do two arm length. I'll have spool in my left hand the line in my right and I spread my arms out. I usually do two arm stretches worth of line. The leader knot will usually just sit right in front of my reel. And if it happens to go through the line guide of my reel it will not be by much. At that point it's not a problem cuz next I cut and retie. I will just adjust for that. I will fish that leader for a while as long as the line is fine, till I get down to about 3 ft. The only times I will fish the leader shorter than that, is if I'm just throwing a topwater walking bait. Mostly use fluorocarbon. Fluorocarbon does not float as good as mono. But with the short leader not being that long it's not a problem.

Neil, when you change out the hooks on the Lucky Craft lures, what hooks do you put on them?

Good to see ya back #neilbone I fish a lot of the zoom flukes on those vmcdropdead 1/8oz screw lock belly weighted hook, has a killer shimmy in the fall! And like ya said, you can fish that fast and fish it slow, try that VMC weighted hook! By the way, Thanks Rosie!

@@cm7032004 It's kind of a mystery at Ollie's.
Take a 1/16th or just a touch heavier nail weight, tungsten works best because its smaller and insert it into a fluke. Its 10 times better imo than a weighted belly hook. It allows a faster fall rate and it will slightly changs the action of the fluke to a better darting action if placed correctly. Bill Dance showed that trick many mnay years ago and ive tested it with various weights the 1/16th, 3/32nd oz seems to me to be the best to do those things plus ad a little weight for casting distance.
I will have to try that sometime with the fluke. There's just nowhere to put much weight into the plastic because of the belly slot. You mostly have just a tail. But I appreciate the recommendation and like to learn new things so I will try it out. I do put nail weights in my stick bait though.
@@neilbonefishing I have one rigged and tied on rn with a 1/16th oz tungsten nail weight. I go in straight from the nose of the bait and bring ot back far enough to get the hook placement where I want it. Bill Dance has a video on his channel showing how he rigs them with a nail weight.
