It should be noted that these cameras can only use a very small SD card of less than 2GB. I have found that only the 256MB card works without issues. Processed with RNI 'film like' editing App nice results can be attained. I just yesterday picked up the A805, but typically shoot with my EDC Lumix CCD and CMOS DIGIcams which have a better apparent build quality. The Fine Pix T550 with a 16MP CCD is a good /better(?) alternative @ usually the same price point. AS far as I Know 16MP is the highest MP count of any CCD sensor, at least in a DIGIcam.

Cool, is this at the end a Nikon Coolpix S6300? I have the same in blue! I only own 2 serious cameras, a Nikon DSLR and that one. Also 2 plastic-fantastic film cameras. Looking forward to your review and if the red one is better than the blue.

I have the Ricoh Mirai 105 version of this same camera, and was surprised after running a roll of Fuji 400 through it. I was expecting point and shoot quality, but was happy to see that giant lens was much closer to SLR quality territory. If it wasn’t for the awkward handling and fussy AF system, I’d have kept it in my rotation of film cameras…

Hey Sam! Thanks for the review, I just picked up this camera. You’ve taken some stunning pictures (and I’m absolutely trying to copy you). I’m a total newbie to any cameras that aren’t fujifilm disposables, so even the simple settings on this camera are new to me. I’m wondering which setting (auto, flash/no flash, RT) you used for your photos? And which settings you’d use in different scenarios? Ie which setting you’d use for taking photos of people vs photos of landmarks, which setting for inside vs outside etc. I’ve loaded up some b&w 400 ISO film just to test out the different settings, but will no doubt pick up some colour film before my next vacation (if like you say, we can afford those anymore).

Why is mine always get blurry photos? I can’t figure out the focus on this thing 😢

Once again cool video! Never had a bridge camera but always was weary of them, analog or digital. Just the way they are positioned: Neither this nor that... One question: You write "ludicrously overpriced" film. Do you know any cheaper alternatives? I'm in Europe and Lomography 800 is the cheapest option I got in all usual online stores. All other 800 ISO color films cost way more.

I love the Andy Kaufmann vibes I get from your videos. But also a interesting comparison. Begs the question why do photographers even shoot film if they go to Lightroom afterwards anyways and change up the whole picture. As a layman I don't rework my analog photos, I want that seperate.

Fricken loved it. Music good. Lack of safety fun. I'm thinking about getting the bluetooth earmuff things, not so much because of hearing protection, but because my earbuds fall out all the time. Right now I have the brush cutter attachment with a saw blade for that troybuilt trimmer. Thinking bout the pole saw but def gonna get that cultivator. it's like a lil over 100 at home depot right now
