Graven Hill is the UK's largest self and custom build project. Nestled at the southern edge of Bicester, an historic market town in North Oxfordshire, the 188-hectare site encircles an ancient hill of beautiful mature woodland. The site has been in use since before the Second World War by the Ministry of Defence, who are gradually relocating to make way for the new village.
Leading the way to make building your own home mainstream, over the coming decade, we hope that Graven Hill will evolve as a new village community.

One needs to buy a double plot to have space around the house, also allows for a fire break !
How long will this plywood house last and what is its resale value? Not good 300k pounds investment at all I think.
As much as I KNOW first hand how difficult it is getting a decent ,warm affordable home just seeing that beautiful greenery being decimated & turned into a building site makes me want to cry..England's green & pleasant land getting smaller by the day 😭😭 I know of at least 5 roads in my old hometown in Liverpool that ( last time I went there) had empty huge Victorian & Edwardian solid houses ..how about renovating & bringing empty housing up to modern British building standards before wrecking what little green belts we have left?? Your houses look.beautiful btw ..I.actually am a fan of modern architecture ...my favourite though has to be Georgian ,I.used to live in a beautiful.Georgian area.
Ngl it's just your average kitchen. Coming from a person with a 1970s chipboard woodrot kitchen. Maybe should be integrated wardrobes?

Well done Lynn, I enjoyed watching you on GD and really felt for you when things went wrong with the floor. End result worth it though! I 'm in the midst of doing my own (and relatively very modest) kitchen extension, the floor didn't set properly and so has to all come back up! What would be your top 3 tips that you did learn, or at least what exactly would you do differently?

When is the suggested completion date for the structure of Graven Hill? I am interested in the homes and will consider a future purchase.
Graven Hill is a 10 year project and we are just coming to the end of our second year. Plenty of serviced self-build plots available for this phase, with more planned for the future (up to 1,900 homes by the end of the project)
What about house performance? U Values, Airtightness? Any information on that, please?
