This cartoon is very beatyful ❤❤❤😮😮

I watched this in honour of the Lunar New Year and it was a good film, I even watched the original version cause I feel like it'll pay more respect to China. I've been itching to hear a more faithful telling of the story as I'm planning to have some Journey to the West-inspired lore in this franchise I want to make one day.

60 years on and none of the modern adaptations can match this movie for sheer creativity of its scenes.

Its sad that this is a better representation of Sun Wukong than the new Netflix movie...

This was my childhood favourite, and I am 30+ now. Still finds it fancy and enjoying....

Truly a work of passion. The phoenix women didn't need to be so smoothly animated. They didn't need to dance. It would have taken a lot of work for something like that which did not advance the plot. They did it anyways. Beautiful.

Ah, the original theatrical version! I've only ever been able to track down the heavily altered 2012 "3D Restoration" that goes... shall we say too far? Yeah, it's one thing to speed up the action scenes frame-rate and convert it to 3D, but it's another thing to actually *REDO THE ENTIRE SOUND MIX AND RE-ANIMATE ALMOST ALL OF THE BACKGROUNDS.* Saving this to watch later, look forward to viewing it.

If you truly agrees to heaven he could just supply them with a lot of fruit especially a lot of peaches

We nearly lost this film due to Cultural Revolution and Red Guard madness. The artists were send to labour re-education camps and this film was even banned.
