No, you didn't nail Ångermanälven. 😉 English have the sounds, but not the letters. Å is pronounced like A in "awful" and Ä is pronounced like A in "and". In Swedish, only A is pronounced like A. If we continue the language lesson, the I in IKEA is pronounced like I in "into".

If you ever drink gin I recommend to try Hernö gin, they have won several worldwide competitions and are from the high coast as well. Old tom is very nice.

There are several whisky destillerys in Sweden, and if this is to your likings, try the best we got; Mackmyra whiskey. Superb quality.

You should look up the brand Mackmyra, it's one of the bigger brand name distilleries for Whiskey in Sweden. Also you missed out on mentioning Absolut vodka, it literally says made in Sweden on the front of it lol

I bought a High Coast sample pack last week containing Älv, Berg, Hav and Timmer. My favorites were Älv & Hav. Älv is unpeated aged in first fill bourbon casks. Hav is the one you got in the video. Berg is unpeated and aged in Sherry and first fill bourbon casks, I'm not a big fan of sherry cask but it was good. Timmer is peated and aged in first fill bourbon casks and it was decent, not something I would recommend unless you are heavily into peated whiskeys.

I can strongly recommend High Coast Berg, it's my favorite Swedish Whiskey or maybe one of my favorite overall.

High coast is the area where they make most of the "surströmming", fermented herring. Not so popular fish in southern sweden.

Swede here Ive only heard of Mackmyra which also is a Swedish whiskey never heard of this one though.

In Sweden we have real good whisky. And we also have in door heating. We dont need caps ore hats when we are indoor😂

The story goes that High Coast originally was named Box but that Bacardi or some other "Big Guy" knocked on their door and said " Box is a trade name of us, so if you don't want to wrestle us in court you better change name". A fantastic whisky and as a Swede I see no reason to buy expensive Scottish maltwhisky any longer.

The High Coast is basically the swedish cosst north of Sundsvall for about 200km. Its unusual in sweden because the land is much higher than sealevel. Usualy in Sweden the coast is about the same level as the sea

Fyi. The Letter "Å" is not pronounced "A". It is rather pronounced as the english word "awe". And the Swedish letter "Ä" is not pronounced "A" either. It is pronounced kinda like the "ai"-sound in the english word "dairy". Therefore "Ångermanälven" is pronounced like this: 'Awe'-ngerman-'ai'-lven.

I hope you can find any whisky from Agitator, but especially their chestnut cask one... it's my favorite Swedish whisky brand by far. They don't focus on old rules and traditions - they want to make tasty whisky. And using a chestnut cask? Well, that's illegal in Scotland if I'm not mistaken, but wow, does it work well! 😆

I have the high coast timmer, very very disappointing whisky!... Watery texture, so soft, too soft, not very complex... I need to try the others but not a bottle!

If you want a whisky from Sweden with a unique bottle, then you really should try and get a hold of a bottle from Spirit of Hven. I recommend Tycho's Star. The destillery is located on the island of Ven in the Oresund Strait between Sweden and Denmark and beside from whisky they also produce their own vodka and gin, both flavored and unflavored, as well as Aquavit. All the malt that they use for their whisky are locally grown on the island. Ven is also the island where the renaissance astronomer Tycho Brahe lived and worked at the palace-observatory Uraniborg and his underground observatory Stjerneborg .
