So again: I agree that the show is messy and worse now, but it's all the new producers and the new writers' fault. But Jay was the best for the longest time: for example, the fight between Jay and the gangster in episode 1x11 is still the best fight in Chicago PD history, brilliant choreography. it is even better if you know that Jesse Lee Soffer is the best-trained actor out of the whole cast. Few fun facts for ppl who maybe just started to watch PD or those who don't know: Brian Luce is an expert and producer on the show, a real veteran Chicago cop& he and Jesse are basically best buddies from day one, their families became friends. And Luce actually said that Jesse is the only one among the cast who could make a great cop in real life. Jesse is the best shooter out of the cast in real life, in fact, he is an excellent shooter and is also the fittest, in great physical shape. Just a few of the curiosities. So if anything, they f0cked up that they ruined Jay with their new ideas, as Jesse was excellent as Halstead, till the seasons in which the producers started to do the police reform theme, but they also ruined other characters with this, in fact, all the main characters are not as good as they were at the start of the show. And I miss the original, old team so Olinsky, Hank, old Halstead, Erin, Mouse, and Antonio the most - that was the team I loved!

Hailey doesn't love Hank you f mor0n, she NEVER did, Hank is old and she could be his daughter, it would have been f gross, 🤮Hank is also a lone wolf for a reason, after he lost his family, this is the essence of his character, genius!! So no - Hank doesn't need a love interest, and especially as young as Hailey, disgusting! And again: Jay was a great character, in the first six seasons he was badass, he was absolutely on the same page as Voight, and he had a great, sarcastic sense of humor. But if you didn't notice, genius, the writers and the producers changed in season 7, and in season 7, they also did this stupid police reform theme, and this is why they changed Jay, they chose his (and Atwater too) as a vehicle to show the police struggle when it comes to the methods, as this show portrays somehow the grey area these cops operate in. But because they chose Jay here, they changed him, and yes - that sucks, but it's entirely on the producers, creators and writers, and the main producer who makes all these decisions, changed in season 7, as I wrote. So it's not the actor's or the character's fault, so you can go and whine to the producers and writers! the truth is that the whole show, the entire Chicago PD went downhill in season 7, it's simply not the same show as it once was. The best seasons are 1-6, and then the Infection crossover episodes at the start of season 7, and after that, it all got ruined. And other characters got ruined as well, not just Jay. This is also why Jesse who played Jay, left the show - he disagreed with the new producer and new writers, and with the way they changed his character!! so stfu!
