      @@danny_brain Only thing is, my Ableton only offers 8 tracks, so I've used half of them up on drums....live and learn...😅

    • @danny_brain

      I recommend you look into the drum rack! It only uses 1 track and you can load samples for all your drums. You can process them separately too. Just drag/drop any effects onto each separate pad. And if you decide to upgrade Ableton later, don't forget to use the student discount if you're a student! (40 or 50% off i think)

This is an excellent video and I am very glad you took the time to explain everything in understandable detail. Please keep them coming.

    What a goofy way to give a visualization of how the compression work...But I fuckin' love it! Made it easy to understand. Question for you, though. Generally speaking, do I want the peaks of all the individual tracks to be identical? I feel like I'm missing something with my beats, and I can't quite pinpoint what I'm lacking. Hopefully you keep these vids coming! Thanks!

    • @danny_brain
      @danny_brain Месяц назад

      Good question! If you're compressing a drums group for example, your snare will generally be louder than your hihats. If you're compressing a vocal on the other hand, you might want more consistency with the peaks. If you're compressing the master, keep it light to maintain the dynamics and life of the track. But remember, there are no hard rules, do what sounds best to you, and you can always pull up a song in a similar genre and use them as reference. Hope this helps!
