The Upper 30
Добавлен 2 янв 2023
Welcome to The Upper 30! Our family gave this name to the old wood lot we used for firewood, saw logs or just exploring and experiencing the great outdoors. In keeping with that spirit, this channel's content covers a wide subject matter from mechanical fixes and restoration projects, working in the shop to being outdoors.

In this video I take you along on a cooking adventure while getting rid of an ugly brush pile! 10/2024 Update… I learned that these cookers may contain high amounts of lead so I analyzed it using an XRF gun at work. The results showed an unhealthy high reading of .216%. Thankfully this was the only dish I prepared and now it’s just a decoration.

First upload of the channel… let’s start off with a bang!
Leave it to Andy to have one of those! Jealous! LOL
Had one of those assigned to my section when I was stationed in Germany '73-'74. Ours was a 1962 Studebaker. 6 cyl normally aspirated diesel. It had a 5 speed tranny with a transfer case that only controlled the front axle in or out. No high or low range. I remember it had an odd shift pattern for the transmission. There was an airbrake system on board, for the heavy trailers it towed. It also was able in an emergency to burn a mixture of Mogas and diesel. 70/30. Mogas was only 70 octane. Ours also had an M-60 machine gun mount above the passenger side seat. You unzipped the canvas top, and you could stand to fire the machine gun on a circular mount, giving you 360° field of fire. It was used mostly as a laundry truck to pick up our laundry in Frankfurt. The Germans hated that thing because the 8" exhaust pipe came out between the right sets of dual tires blasting smoke right in windows of passenger cars.
Thanks for sharing! Later on during this same drive I was in a left turn lane and pulled up next to a Tesla with it's windows down... the driver became very acquainted with this vehicle's exhaust system! 😂 This truck also has a set of Lockers for the front wheels, I'll have to do a Short... She's put up for the winter now and my shop isn't heated but I'm working on some content ideas for this Spring.
I gave the thumbs up... But, post another clip of views of the outside driving, turning, driving past, etc ... 👍
I agree and thanks! I borrowed a GoPro mount last minute for this drive and hopefully Santa is bringing some goodie’s for what’s coming in 2025!
@carmensmith2828 Ho-ho-ho ! 🎅 LOL ! ⛄
What do you mean, no valet parking?
Thanks. Great video and memories.
Nice ride🫶🏻
You should have a German Shepard or Lab ride along !
On the list come Spring!
Nice looking toy 👍
It sure is!
Thank you for this!
I had no idea what was wrong ....this was great, THANK YOU
EXACTLY what I needed. Helpful hint, DON'T leave your nail gun hooked up, I ran to the store to get a couple of things, and when I got back that seal had failed and the compressor was running, who knows how long...
Excellent! Thank you!!
Hello, where did you get the part from?
Amazon has it.
I just finished watching Rob's video where he brought back a Bedrock for his display. Thanks for sharing your own video! ❤it
