This is a little drill I created for practicing the different types of hits we use in drumming (taiko and otherwise). This runs it at a slower tempo (75 BPM). Combining all four types of hits (catch up, catch down, tap up, tap down) at a faster tempo (95 BPM). The exercise is 8 beats of each, then two rounds of 4 beats, and then 4 rounds of 2 beats. Have fun!

Hello... How Are you doing? My Alesis pad is not getting the signal from the phone... Any guesses?
Have you checked that the sample pad is set to send on channel 1?

@@Carloseduardo199able the latest update if you are in track view GB seems to mute the instrument unless you are recording a track. Try this. Open up the taiko instrument - so you can see all the taiko drums - make sure the headphone icon is active (yellow) and then try it. You should see signal coming into the track and also hear it.
@@taikozentrumdeutschland4667 I got the Alesis sample pad pro, are there any differences from samplepad 4?
@@Carloseduardo199able there shouldn't be any significant differences. I tried it again on mine today and it worked super fast. Just plugged it in and there it was. Maybe it's your USB hub... some of those have multiple USB inputs and they don't all work for MIDI.

Interesting video. I have a strange issue though. I have an Alexis Nitro mesh kit and I can get no sounds when I play with the taiko sample pack. I have it connected to a 2020 MacBook Air, and I can hear other instruments/kits but no sound on taiko drums. However, if I record, GarageBand will register my hits, and those hits seem to be recording on key positions that have taiko sounds mapped to them when you go into the editor. but when you play back, no sound. Any insights to this would be greatly appreciated. sorry to leave such a long comment on a video. I am desperate for help.
Hi Dean! Ok so let's see...if i understand correctly the drum pad you have is triggering sounds on other instruments (so you can hear other instruments playing when you hit the drum pad) but just not on the taiko instrument? I've seen this exact problem before when trying to use a drum pad that did not have assignable pads. So first thing to do is check that your Nitro midi out is set to channel 1. Then if the pads are assignable (meaning you can assign each pad a midi note to trigger) make sure each pad is set to a note that triggers a drum sound on the taiko instrument. It should work with the Nitro with no problems!

@@taikozentrumdeutschland4667 Das ist der Punkt. Wenn ich G B öffne zeigt sich - Keyboard-Sammlung Amp-Sammlungen Stimme HipHop Elektronisch und Songwriter. Drums leider nicht.....
G- Leit Check that you have the most recent garage band update. But drums should Always be an option there.

I just checked, you can also go to keyboard sounds and and click get more sounds and it will take you to the sample packs page and you can still download the taiko from there
