Very good analysis! I agree that chapter 3 could have included Asgore instead of Undyne or Napstablook. Moreover, the goat dad could be our companion instead of Toriel (so the dark path could be that we made him kill Toriel? Very edgy). I think Asgore is a softer person than he seems, so the likelihood that we can command him is higher. However! 15:43 - I always thought after watching this scene that Kris wanted to show the dark world to the adults (mom and cops), because otherwise no one would believe them (Andyne just laughed when Kris told her about it). There is always this feeling that Kris does not like (or even afraid to) visiting dark worlds

Something no one brings up that I think really bears mentioning is the track that plays during the spelling bee (I believe bluebird of misfortune) is actually a cover of December from Anastasia

A theory I have is actually that the shadow crystals/glass shards show a world where the dark world doesn’t exist… but the problem is seeing through Kris’ hand… but everything else lines up

i think that if Sans got out of there because of the roaring happening, then he took Papyrus with him because if he left papyrus behind, papyrus would die, so he had to, and then after that, gaster got split and shattered, and so he rewound/reset deltarune's world to just after the card castle fountain was made, and then called out for us, that's why we see sans and hear papyrus

My favorite theory will always be that something that allowed us to make vessel is benevolent in its way to "make wishes to come true" but in the end someone interdicts and cuts them off, making the wish come out twisted and driving at least someone insane. So it did help both Jevil and Spamton... and us, vessel-less soul... and something came in, cut him off. We instead of vessel got into Kris, and our both bosses went mad Worth to note goners (Followers of Gaster) look similar but discoloured to already existing characters, like the man who spent a lot of gold for Muffets donuts and a similar Goner who held a part of Gaster (I think its Gaster giving him wealth but in the end its what Gaster gave him), same with Monster Kid who wanted friends, cant remember about what goner Kid said. The Vessel is somewhere, turned into Follower as it could not find purpose.

I think that Don't Forget isn't meant to be interpreted as any particular character, more it's meant to encapsulate the themes that permeate every chapter, about the alluring nature of Escapism, and the importance of not getting so carried away that you hurt someone you care about. It's easy to get carried away and live in your own fantasy, but you have to remember that there are other people there with you who care about you, and will be affected by what you choose to do.

Some people have suggested that [Hyperlink Blocked] means LOVE but I don't think so because some of the implications that would create are a bit too gross than I think this game is willing to go. Personally I think the word is "Choices".

THEORY: Asriel is the knight, he left college cuz it was too hard for him and had an idea to just get shit from the dark world and sell them, you actually do keep all your stuff from the dark world but asriel knocks you out and takes it to sell for cash (he does it with something laced not violence)

One of my few off-the-cuff theories is that the weird route will end in a form of softlock. Congratulations! You might not have saved the world like you were supposed to, but hey, by technicality, you did prevent its destruction. This would then let the route play out while not being an "ending"

I used to believe that a potential candidate for a chapter 3 secret boss was the pie that Toriel and Susie were baking

i think each chapter will have a weird route, just not all of them will be as dark as others (some may just be like chapter ones where it's just encountering the miniboss, may not count as a weird route, but similar core idea) i think the weird routes are just the routes where you go off the beaten path in some which way, some more drastically than others

I am like so glad you gave the Ralsei is evil theory a 1. I just never liked that theory due to how super predictable it is. Plus Toby already made a final boss thats a goat with magic.

I’m not personally FOR the Susie is homeless theory. Like..how IS she going to school?? No one could of signed her up, and she’d be in foster care if in school (as they won’t just let a kid be homeless 💀 I’d hope the town is kind enough to not let kids just be homeless..). It makes more sense imo that she’s a foster kid and has been in bad homes, maybe she even purposely rejects things from them such as food and other stuff as accepting aid is hard from people who hurt you or let you get hurt..she probably hates them. Also I disagree with this quiz saying Flowey isn’t self aware and is talking to chara..WE aren’t chara, we aren’t playing as chara. The quiz states we are but this obviously untrue when in the genocide route we can say NO to chara..if we were playing as Chara why could we say no to ourself?🤣 That doesn’t make sense! Chara, Frisk, and the Player are all separate people..Frisk is the body we control, Chara is the descriptions we get of things, and the Player is the one controlling Frisk and making the decisions..this also means we change Chara. In pacifist route Chara gives helpful, kind, and even witty dialogue and descriptions! In genocide however we get rude snide dialogue and descriptions with them even ignoring signs because they’re “not important”/“not the mission”.

i believe when i first played deltarune i disliked him and now i will punt anyone who hates him into the sun ❤ i think hes actually kind of relatable...

I *do* have a 'Noelle killed Dess' theory, but... it's not just 'Noelle likes creepy stuff so its not out of character', which is... the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I'll be honest, I don't think it's actually true, with how much emphasis there is on 'find her', but I do think it fits the available pieces interestingly. Noelle blocks out terrible things she's done, obviously, you got that one. There's also Kris's interest in the occult, looking up and practicing spells with Catti. There's Noelle, Dess, Kris, and Asriel's habit of going out in the woods to explore together. There's Asgore's removal from the police force. There's the fact that both Queen and Spamton recognize that Noelle is uniquely suited to creating and generating some form of power. And finally, there's the fact that when Kris tells her to cast Snowgrave, she doesn't seem confused like Kris just started talking nonsense- she's upset, and she's defensive. So, what if while the kids were out together, Kris thought it'd be cool to try out some of the spells they looked up? What if one of them was a spell supposed to cause some kind of frost storm? What if they went through in sequence, trying and failing to cast a spell... until they got to Noelle? Sure, Deltarune monsters can't use magic... but as I pointed out, Noelle is special. Maybe it actually worked for her, and she did something terrible, something where even the mention of it would cause her to completely shut down afterwards- until she eventually learned to just block it out and suppress it, and talk as if Dess is totally fine, she's just.... somewhere else right now that Noelle isn't sure of. After one of the mayor's kids was found frozen to death, in the company of the police chief's kids, with nobody willing or able to say what happened- as Noelle can't mentally process it and shuts down, and Kris and Asriel are covering for her. (Or maybe just Kris, Asriel might've gone away for a bit to get some firewood maybe and come back very confused.) Kris DEFINITELY knows, though. They know what Snowgrave is. And even if Noelle's blocking it out, starts getting angry at them for suggesting it for reasons she's not even consciously aware of, they know she can cast it. And they know the single, one-word description that sums up the spell perfectly. 'Fatal.'

Crack theory cuz I'm tired af: Ralsei is actually just one of Asriel's hairs that's just stuck on Kris.

3:50 No way, Rudy is TOTALLY gonna bite the dust. Rudy's illness and Noelle dependance on him is a very big plot point ,and we KNOW Noelle will have an important and negative role in the future due to all the Angel reference. She will need a trigger to oppose the Delta warrriors, and Rudy dying(or looking like he will die) will certainly be it. And Noelle character arc will not be complete until she overcome her reliance on her father and fear of losing him.

what if... Berdly just stops going to school no matter what you did? and that way the explian that way that he is in a coma, or that he broke his arm and doesnt feel ready to go, or just simply his new outlook made him feel like it isnt worth it to go? it's a bit of a dumb theory, but i can also se Toby pulling something like that

Imagine accidentally starting a heated discussion about berdly, couldn't be me x3 Also, I will ALWAYS be an Asgore defender, I always feel like people overhate him, while I understand he made really big mistakes in Undertale and its valid to question if he is allowed to be redeemed, I personally will never hate him. And specially in Deltarune, I also feel like everyone is asuming he is to blame for every problem in the dreemur household, like there can't be nuanced in the broken family, everything wrong that happened has to be Asgore's fault, which I kinda hate. I just realized this could lead to that same berdly discussion, whoops.

I've played through these chapters multiple times but I don't interact with the community, and y'all have really been doing some mining, I didn't even know a bunch of these minor characters and interactions existed, yet there are theories about them

Y'know the problem of the two only existing morally in comparison to one another rather than as individual entities really sounds like something that didn't follow over into Deltarune, until people started theorizing that Toriel left Asgore because of homophobia. Like damn. Let them have one thing that isn't morally black and white.

This fandom is beyond immature and obedient, literally shoving every garbage their supreme god toby puts out into their brain-gullets, chapter 2 was a narrative disaster. Depicting a gifted overachiever as the villain because his mere existence proves that not everyone can be as gifted and successful as him, and...WHAT? He says he wants to live in a Smartopia where everyone is highly intelligent and on his level? What a NAZI INCEL!!!! How dare him go to the same class as Susie, who bullies, threatens and interrupts the class constantly and doesn't really care about her future...BERDLY IS THE VILLAIN NOT SUSIE AND THE REST OF HIS BRAINDEAD CLASS!!!!

On the topic of Dess possibly being dead/somehow not able to come back, I think that it’s an interesting idea precisely BECAUSE Rudy’s already sick in the hospital. Even if Rudy doesn’t die in the span of the story, he’s obviously going to die sooner than he should. It’s possible that Noelle will be forced to accept either that Dess/Rudy aren’t going to recover, which makes her unable to accept the other one’s situation, since it would be too sad to lose them both. Something like that could push her to make a Dark World at some point, which I think would make for an interesting chapter. It’d be kinda cool to see her as the “villain” of one chapter, with the main gang having to talk some sense into her.
