Know what this is like? This is the Les Paul equivalent to that really grainy video of John Mayer on a Two Rock amp playing Slow Dancing in a Burning Room. When I saw this in 2011, I immediately had to go out and get a Paul, just like Jimmy, and learn this song. Just like when I saw Mayer do Slow Dancing, I had to go get a Strat. I was previously a purely Ibanez player, metalhead type vibes. But those two videos turned it all around for me. Had to get the Led out. Another one is Buckethead doing Interworld with the flying v. Any other life changing guitar videos I should know about? Sound off plz.
He used a fender twelve string for backing guitar on stairway and he used a telecaster for the solo but sure he did mix it up. The man's got a collection of some 2,500 plus guitars.
People say Hendrix was better, up to today 16/11/24, and I have listened to both, but Jimmy could play Hendrix but could Hendrix play Jimmy??, for me Jimmy is the best of all time
Watched this movie with my dad as a young drummer when it came out and one of the biggest takeaways beyond the dynamics he talks about is that his timing is pretty solid. A lot of guitarists rely on a drummer to stay in time. Even with all the syncopation of the chorus and the difference in dynamics from verse and chorus, he doesn't really speed up too badly. He's not even tapping his foot to keep time he just feels it. Excitement comes from the dynamics so there is no need to rush and I think that's a lesson for a lot of young musicians. I guess that's the session musician in Page. A total pro.
I love Pages playing! There’s no one that can make Rock n Roll faces better than Page! And… Let’s not forget about the way he moves along with those faces! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I saw Led Zeppelin twice at Earls Court, then at Knebworth, then Page & Plant at Manchester evening news, but couldn't get tickets for O2, but I did take my 7 year old son James a jimmy page look-a-like to see it might get loud in Sheffield, and the staff gave him the advertisement poster. (Yes he still looks more like Jimmy in the 1970s, and plays & loves jimmy, he's grown a bit 22yrs)
Great guitarist, he is every bit as good as Hendrix only he did not do vocals, I prefer Page over Beck also, Beck is a great technical guitarist but his music does not have any soul , Clapton is another wonderful player
"Ramble On" by Led Zeppelin is typically tuned to standard EAD GBE. The song is in the key of A major, has a time signature of 4 beats per bar, and is high energy with danceability.
Oh man, that is perfection.

Worst camera guy EVER… I don’t wanna see Jimmy face or his humbuckers up close… we wanna see him playing.. as it is a rare intimate setting… 🙄
He has such beautiful hands elegant slim and deft
One of the worlds great tragedies is this song not being played at the end of Lord of the rings. No offense to Annie Lennox
Did he only use a Les Paul guitar? Or, sometimes Fender for songs?

dynamics, light and shade. Whisper to the thunder. That’s it
JPJ killed it on this tune!
Thank you for sharing this 😊
I am here just to give youa like and go back to look for some lights and shaades! :D
It's like watching a magician showing you how the trick is done . When giants roamed the earth 🤘
who is the old tootsky?
Is Jimmy still a pedophile?

PURE GENUIS
Неплохая гитарка.

Also he's been playing it for 56 years. ;-)
Thank You Jim for everything!!!

rock star noun 1. Jimmy Page.
Silver haired genius. So much power in his playing
God bless him!
I love this song Ramble On, it's my favorite
0:39 “ is to be reckoned with very seriously”
He’s the best ever

Lori Mattix 13?????
Not a lot of palm muting going on here that I can see….?
Iconic
this guy wants us to watch him wank his guitar
Never ceases to amaze me!
Most are watching Gods fretting hand, but what is really amazing is the rythym in his picking hand. There is his real gift.
He is the goat.number 1 the greatest.
His playing is so sloppy
I love how Jimmy Page just looks like an old monk. He looks like if some Buddhist monk achieved nirvana through Lord of the Rings and guitar.
On loop.
no wasted movement in the pickup switch . still got it
Great guitarist, he is every bit as good as Hendrix only he did not do vocals, I prefer Page over Beck also, Beck is a great technical guitarist but his music does not have any soul , Clapton is another wonderful player
He can barely play in nowdays meanins, but as a composer, as performer Jimi is the man. Thank you maids, LZ was essential band.
I love the light touch. Just incredible.
ironically titled... can barely hear it. but full love
This was filmed by a potato not with but by. God I love jp but I would love to see the fret hand
Got goosebumps big time watching this!
Jimmy page he’s like painting, an art of work like Mona Lisa
A magic wizard
Something about the "Ramble On" caption coming in only after Jimmy switches pickups and plays the riff makes it much better
Just hanging out talking guitars with Jimmy.

All my life I’ve tried unsuccessfully to hear how Page is playing the guitar chorus, and the camera cuts out his left hand during it…🤦
It's Magic 🌆🌆🌇🌃
