    My 2013 Tribeca doesn’t have a transmission oil filter in this location. I'm pretty sure this video only applies to the B9 Tribeca's. I cannot find a transmission oil filter anywhere on my vehicle.

    I do appreciate the video though because it shows me where that thing is located at. How did you keep from spilling all of it? You said to pre-fill it but that filter is obviously at an angle so a lot of it probably just ended up all over the vehicle

    I just did this job on my Tribeca last weekend. The dealership just wanted too much money to do this job and I'm happy I was able to do this on my own. Just take your time it's pretty much straightforward. I would give it 7/10 difficulty. If you plan to do both sides, it is recommended to go ahead and change your spark plugs and your oil. The most difficult part of the job is taking out the corner bolts of the valve cover as someone had mentioned in this thread. You need to lift the engine with a jack a few inches in order to get more room to work with. This was a method I used which I saw the dealership tech perform when they changed my spark plugs in the past. This will lift the engine high enough give you enough space to get to the hard-to-reach bolts and allow you to get the spark plugs when its past the car frame. Use a ratcheting wrench, this helps with the rear bottom bolts of the valve cover. I prob. couldn't do this job without those. It will take a lot of small turns but will eventually come out. Take the airbox and battery out to give you more space to work with. Good Luck!

      Question, did you have to loosen all engine mounts to raise it up, or did you also have mess with the trans mount as well. I have an 2011 Outback that I want to perform this on. Thanks

      I just replaced both on my 2012 Tribeca. No engine removal was necessary, but that one bottom/back bolt on the drive's side is a bear to take out and put in. A ton of patience and a flex-head ratcheting combination wrench did the job. Not a "breeze" but it's doable.

    • @jcanales1977
      @jcanales1977 4 месяца назад

      @@ToneScavenger Flex-head rachet is highly recommended. I lifted my engine up on my 2013 tribeca a few inches helped a lot as well. Especially on takin gth espark plugs out on the drivers side.

      Vice grips hold up one side while you align the other side. May have to push the hatch up a bit with your hand while adjusting. I used the screws to align the holes and lightly screwed them in for the sake of placement then used the impact for tightening.

    Did you put the plastic trim covering back (that snaps on the hinge) on after you repaired the wires or did you leave as is? I cant seem to find a way to reconnect the backing properly and I think it is funneling water into the headliner during carwashes and heavy rain. I already cleaned out the water drain in this area so I know that is not the problem. I didn't know if the plastic conduit/trim cover serves any other purpose besides aesthetics.

    • @simpleauto3863
      @simpleauto3863 Год назад

      I did put the plastic trim back on. It’s not perfect and I’ve had no water issues. I’d say double check the rear washer fluid hose to make sure that’s not the issue, then look at any rubber sealing around the area. After that, I’d go to the moonroof and or drainage hose for possible clogs

    An intermittent issue with the half glass window at the top is also effected also by these wires, 2004 R5, only opens when the main tailgate is halfway open, not in any other position, just replaced all four of the struts, tested all the switches and the same loom that you have repaired will effect the two rear internal lights left and right and also power to the top half glass opening switch and all wires need to be extended, very good explanation, and video, thank you

    Hey there, I have this exact problem with my 2006 Touareg. Does it matter which tiny brown wire is connected to which? It looks like there are two identical tiny brown wires and two identical large brown wires. I am going to solder the wires but I want to make sure everything is correct before I do. The wires were completely snapped when I pulled the tape off so I have no way of knowing which was connected to which. Also, how did you fix the pipe for the rear window washer? Did it have to be replaced or is there a way to reconnect it?

    • @simpleauto3863
      @simpleauto3863 Год назад

      Hey! I just matched the large browns together and the small together. Doesn’t matter which ones specifically. You should be able to grab a small inner plastic tube piece to connect the wiper fluid tube at a local auto spot. Good luck!
