great help can you tell the part the number please for the oil filter?
Somebody just remembered their password 😂
@@briangaming1975 I have so many videos in the pipeline just need the time to get it edited 😭😂
Thanks man I've learned something 🙏
@@ThaboNathaniel be on the lookout as I will post a how to service video on the Mitsubishi colt in future! Be sure to let me know if you have any questions 😁
How often do I need to do this?
you can do a mileage service(at every 15000km for petrol engines and 10000km for diesel) or an yearly service, which ever comes first.
Another banger 🔥🔥💪
Give the camera man a raise 😭🔥
Give that mechanic a raise 🤣🤣🤣
Hi where can I buy those led bulbs
@@stellacloete2223 Hi, you can get them online from takealot or from any spareshop near you.
Mr can you please help my breather pipe makes my engine dirty what can I do
@vusumzinomatye3592 you need to get a small pod filter to put on the pipe so the oil does not come out and mess the engine, and the engine can still breathe
@vusumzinomatye3592 if you watch my video on how to paint a valve/tappet cover at around 9:30 you will see the filter I am talking about, this filter can be bought from any spare shop
i once did this one. i had a feeling it did not go in to second gear far enough i asked my dad to help half way in to the job first thing he did was grab it and push the linkage out was a real pain to find the correct gear i did not mark it so before removing the lolipop ant the linkage hes holding marl where it sat so u can put ti where it was. mine i put back it was in 3 and 4 not in 1 and 2 so when i shifted in reverse it was in 1 real pain

Hey man! Wanna ask you, what size of bulb you used?
Mxm stupidly race 😅
Thanks for the vid
Great vid ! What type of material is that below the hood and what's the purpose of it?
Thank you for the support. The german flag is painted on under the hood, and it was done for the aesthetics of the car once the hood is open.
Hey bro , if you take out the helper springs and keep the fenders standard... will you still be able to turn normal?
And how is the ride without the helper springs?
If you're going to max out the coilover and go the lowest it allows you then you will have to roll your fenders or else the fender will rub on the tire and get damaged another thing you should be careful of when maxing out the coilover is that your steering rack arm will rub on your chassis arm unless c notched.
@delvinsafers3930 this depends in the brand of coilover you are using if it is a higher end coilover then you won't have a "bouncy" or "harsh" ride but another thing to remember with one way adjustable coilovers is that the lower you go the harder your ride will get.
My brother. Very good video. Random question but where do you put fuel in or does it matter?
@@natekeyss for the fuel filter you just need to prime your pump to fill the new fuel filter before you start the car so just turn your ignition on and off about 3 times and you will hear your fuel pump coming in and off then start the car and you will be all good 👍🏼
is this safe to run?
Just did this but when removing the rod [yes marked it] the section that shifts through the bush had worn away the electroplating [the rod is steal plated with hard nickle for durability and then cadmium for corrosion protection. Ideally we should have replaced the rod but now you have a dismantled gear shift, a car on stands in the yard, live far from a major city and need the car to run. So even with a new bush there was still 2mm of play on the shaft. Enough to still cause problems. After a visit to our local hardware and an "indaba of men" our McGyver move was to find some shrink tube the right size that is a kind of hard plastic and shrink that over the worn area. Yah I know water etc, etc, and it will probably also wear, but it worked and seem it will be good enough for some time. Easy enough to keep an eye on if you enjoy sliding under a car with the cellphone light on. Gear shift is nice and positive again and next visit to the city and the scapyard we will have to remember to take a look.
You gonna put on stretch tires? Looking fresh tho🔥
Thanks for the comment bro, unfortunately this car has been sold, but I have another project I am working on and the reveal will be soon so be on the lookout for it. 💪
I loved watching your video bro🔥
Thanks 🔥

Is there any video out here that shows how to install coilies as Is? As in not removing anything but just fit them the way the are, some of us aren't really looking for lows.
It's exactly the same process just don't remove the helper springs.
It would’ve been cooler if you put links in the description ( takealot, amazon etc. )for where we could get all those the stuff that you used ( 0:17 )...but otherwise, thanks for the informative video👍🏼
Definitely something I will include in future video's.
more colt content please
Someone has to be in the front the cars so that we can be able to see which car has won
No winner
Wow I have been lazy thinking I have to take out all the aircon and heater switches😂 because my friend took the dashboard to install those LED,mxm this video helped a lot😮
Can you name all the tools you used
Keep an eye out for my next video 😊
Wont the spring get "loose" when jacking up the car? Thats why the helper spring is there 😄
No, it actually won't as the whole strut is threaded, and you tighten the nuts so it holds up the spring. Even when jacking the car, the spring is secured with the coilover nuts.. the helper spring is there to reduce the harshness of the ride and give a smoother, more comfortable feel for the occupants.
TTFN and the other
Dou have to put a new seal?
If your oil seal is not damaged and leaking previously then there's no need to replace the seal 👌🏼
Nice vid, any idea on replacing/checking the ring light around the ignition. Searching and can't find a lot of colt videos?
Wil that oil not cause lifter noise in future?
Yes it will prevent lifter/tappet noise in the future ,it's the right oil for a higher mileage car or a car that is used as a daily as it's thicker it should lose minimal viscosity till your next service
@@supermancustoms what is ur current mileage?
@Menoboy meno i have around 320000km and travel around 600 to 700km a week
@@supermancustoms ok i hope the 15 40 oil wont cause bearing knock sooner
@Menoboy meno I know of some guys with high mileage golf's who even go as high up as using diesel oil and their vehicles still run perfectly
What if I’m buying a used one is the servicing the same?
Yes it's the same to service all mk1s just follow these steps and you'll have your vehicle perfect for the next 15000km till you gotta service it again
@@supermancustoms thanks bro I’ll look you up when I’m in Cape Town you show me around.😅
@@supermancustoms sure bro. Is that oil the recommended one coz I hear 20 w50 should be the one used
@frederick mosiane 20w50 is manufacture spec but as a vehicle gets older it requires a higher viscosity oil so for higher mileage cars I use a higher viscosity(thicker) oil
Hi, my dad left me same car as this. But i don't use it because it overheats after few kms of driving. Any suggestions i can do from home? ..and the speed gauge is also not working. Only rev one is Please help if you know
Then you need to check if the is water or bubbles coming from your reservoir water bottle because it could be that your head gasket or your cylinder head itself is cracked The speed gauge would either be disconnected from behind the cluster or from your gearbox because on the side of the gearbox you got a speedometer cable that attaches to the gearbox it might be out on of the sides that's why it's not working
hi I had the same problem. first make sure you get someone that really knows colt engines because you will need the head gasket replaced if the top is still fine otherwise it will need to be skimmed. the main problem must be your thermostat, you can remove it completely it will be just fine, but if you want to replace it with a new one make sure you run your car on coolant only and not water. and always make sure your levels are fine by inspecting your coolant and engine oil every now and than, hope this will be helpful
What’s the model of the LEDs this dashboard takes ? I have on e like it and want to replace to LED. Thanks
Where do you buy your colt spares?
I usually get them from parts people but these led lights you can get from any spare shop or car accessory shop
How do remove the lollipop... mine seems to be stuck, i can't get it out
It should be connected by a 13mm nut once that is out the lollipop might be held on tightly but just wiggle it around and it will eventually come out
@@supermancustoms I've tried wiggling it with no success... I'm currently driving without the nut in hope that the lollipop will loosen but it's been a week now and it's still tight
LOL 🤣
The cameraman on this one needs a raise 👀🔥
He'll get a raise when the car gets a drop 🤫🤣
Thanks for doing the colt. 👍
Awe please do on the Golf also Been meaning to change them on my golf but not sure if I can find the led bulbs easily 😫 Great video by the way
Thanks, very helpful
Thanks piet much appreciated
No drop links?
On the mk1 golf's they don't use drop links but in newer cars like vw polos and so on they take a shortened drop link to go with the coilover kit
@@supermancustoms are you absolutely sure buddy? Is the lack of drop links not detrimental to the stability of the car?.
@@medicineman7461 yes absolutely sure as older model cars do not have sway bars so we cannot connect drop links but on my personal vehicle in the video I have an after market lower stabilizer bar which helps my vehicle stay sturdy at high speeds I will show you this in a future video👌🏼
@@supermancustoms oh was it not a hassle fitting one? I own a 2009 CitiRox and i never knew these babies never came with sway bars lol. It's on lowering springs and its pretty stable even at high speeds
@@medicineman7461 no they fit from one end of the control arm to the other side it's a simple installation you should consider changing to coilies I had lowered springs on my 07 velociti and once I went static I loved it so much that even now that she's gone I made the project car static as well 👀
Very informative 👏
