"Gratitude" is not divine. It's a dualistic, human idea that goes hand in hand with blame and the failure to take responsibility for what one sows and, thus, reaps. Appreciation for God, creation or "the way of things" comes in only one form - and it's not the form of prostration or worship or any other form of arrogantly setting oneself apart from creation and how it works. The divinity one acknowledges in "Namaste", isn't some sort of "goodness". Goodness is all there is and saluting what one presumes to call "goodness" sets oneself apart from the divine with an assumption of being qualified to judge it. We don't have to love the whole of creation when we're standing toe to toe with it. We just have to understand that we're not qualified to judge it and that, in our enjoyment of the bits we enjoy, we create the environment necessary for the appearance of things we enjoy. The blessing is existence. And that's ALL of existence as our own is irrevocably tied to the whole of it. We are not separate. We are not qualified to judge or compare one piece to another. Not even ourselves to others or ourselves to some human idea and written description of "goodness". Regardless of how old it might be. God loves creation and the only time one is on the same page with God is when one is enjoying it with him. Your attitude toward whatever you're looking at is the stage upon which you are standing, in any given moment. If you're judging something superior to something else - calling it "good" from the perspective of "badness" or "best" from the perspective of "lesser" - that's arrogance. You'll never be perfect in human form but you know what joy is and all you have to do is acknowledge it and what it means and let "the way of things" take care of the logistics with the understanding that you're not qualified to assign presence or absence to anything - nor can you - as everything is exactly where it should be according to "the way of things". Everything is exactly where it MUST be - the only place it CAN be. If you're not enjoying yourself - then you're judging creation. If you don't understand that you're reaping what you're sowing when it comes to your in-the-moment relationship with existence, then you're judging existence, believing you are "right", and will have no reason to change course - no reason to sow joy - and man's judgement of existence is a downward spiral and continues until he changes his mind which can only happen one by one. You can't stop judging. But, what you CAN do is understand so that the horrible reaping of the sowing of your judgement will be like a catapult when you remember - when you STOP growling or whining or hating or otherwise judging existence and remember that all is well. With lightness rather than shame - i.e. without judging yourself. One day you'll blow kisses to every horror you've ever sown and reaped. Whether you do it here or wait until you leave this place, it doesn't matter. Although, I would say that doing it HERE is AWESOME! Like the first time a child successfully ties their own shoes! There's no better feeling than something like that... Existence isn't a job. You can't get it wrong and you can't ever "fix" it because it's not ever broken. It's always and only EVER exactly as it should be - the only way it CAN be. The only thing you can change is your own mind but you don't need anything else because changing one's mind changes EVERYthing. It's not supernatural - it's not magic - it's simply the way of things -- the way of existence. And there's always awe to be had, whether one has never been awed or is awed everyday. There's ALWAYS more! Your reaping is your own and extends as far as your eyes can see so sow joy and look far and wide! Reap and spread the love!
Beautiful service and wonderful to see and hear Heather again even if it had to be at a distance
Great service! Looking forward to seeing all of you in person, God bless!
Thanks for this Janice! We do this type of prayer with my Christian group at school so it was nice to see that you know about it too! A good change of pace for my day instead of watching something mindless. Hope you're well!

Thank you Janice for sharing this time of worship with us. I'm grateful it has reached my Facebook. I recall meeting with a Priest on one occasion. He said "God forgave you the moment you asked. The harder part now is to forgive yourself and accept God's forgiveness." I think your talk today follows a similar vein. To the extent we forgive, we are forgiven....both for ourselves and for others. To the extent that 'Bob' is forgiven, our hearts can be opened to experience the freedom of forgiveness in return. Thank you for this reflection, and this reminder.
Thank you Tim, you give us all a chance for reflection and reminder as well. May you be blessed!
I am grateful for the ‘deeper’ explanation. I am at ‘peace’, but now I am left with more questions! Again, thank you, Rev, I truly appreciate all you do and give! xoxo
Questions are always a good springboard and allow us opportunities for growth in our relationship and spiritual journey :)
Thank you again, Rev! xox
