Any episodes of You and Me from 1990/1991?
You and Me was a bit before my time. As for uploading stuff full stop: I'm afraid due to reasons beyond my control, there won't be further uploads of BBC archive shows for the forseeable (unless someone can help me with getting shows.)
I didn'y know Thomas was going to be in Playdays. What a surprise and a good tribute to Britt Allcroft.
This is probably the most somber conclusion to a CBBC game show ever. Luckily, the show lasted for 2 more years: 1995 and 1996.
Holy moly, I used to watch this as a toddler. I'm so happy to revisit this episode
this shit was literally a fever dream
I don't remember that.....
Anyone know who "Eugene" is/was? I don't 'spose the episode where Peter "breaks his leg" which means Shane has to do Peter's job and ends up in the gunge himself!
It's funny you ask that, because I would also like to know this. This episode was one I once found on tape about a quarter of a century ago, which was basically the reason I went hunting for all these episodes to find it again. I'm afraid there won't be any more uploads of this type of BBC content for the forseeable. Not because I don't want there to be any, but because of problems with the suppliers.
@tenpasttwelve8931When you say "suppliers," is it just 'B.B.C.' content they supply? I'm amazed at how little 'T.C.C.' (The Children's Channel) there is on RUclips. Specifically, 'Around the World In 80 Seconds' was another of my favourite gunge shows. Timmy Mallet presented it, and it had 'Wolf' from 'Gladiators', who was also on it. It's a shame Peter Simon/Shane Richie/John Eccleston/Bobby Davro but moreover, Peter has never done a podcast or some sort of Q and A on his time with 'R.T.R'. I have so many questions I'd love answered. How was the show made? Did they make 5 episodes in a day? Was the gunge freezing cold etc, etc. If you had these episodes for 25 years, all I can say is, please, in future, don't be a stranger.
@@Hertfordshire247 *If you had these episodes for 25 years, all I can say is, please, in future, don't be a stranger.* Or, you could say 'thanks for these uploads, I am really chuffed to see them!' and just leave it at that? 🤷♂
I was 7 and a half years old when this aired, but I can still remember watching this so well. I loved Children's BBC back then. It is now a shadow of its former self in 2025, on the verge of possible closure.
I believe the channel's closing, but I'm not sure I agree with "shadow of its former self." Ostensibly, the content is outstanding, but it wouldn't appeal to 38 and 32 year olds like you and me for obvious reasons.
Hi Ten Past Twelve I hope this message finds you well I’ve been really enjoying your uploads and want to thank you for all the effort you put into sourcing and sharing these treasures. I’m sorry if this comes across as demanding it’s not my intention but I was wondering if it might be possible for you to source and upload the episodes linked below. These are episodes of Playbus (Playground Stop): 1989-01-03 1989-01-10 1989-01-17 1989-01-24 1989-01-31 1989-02-07 1989-02-14 1989-02-28 1989-03-07 1989-03-14 1989-03-21 1989-03-28 1989-04-04 1989-04-11 Unfortunately none of these seem to be available on RUclips so I would be absolutely over the moon if you were able to upload them to your channel That said I completely understand if this isn’t possible or if it’s too much trouble Please don’t feel any pressure it’s just a hopeful request from a big fan of your work Thanks again for everything you do
I really wanted there to be more uploads (I've wanted them as much as you guys), but unfortunately, the place I sourced them from can no longer send me anything so I'm afraid that's your lot for the forseeable.
@tenpasttwelve8931 Oh never mind then
Now that’s what I call “One day in the park”
Thanks for finally uploading this! such a rare episode :)
I'm curious where these episodes are being sourced from, the quailty is too good to be VHS and afew have been coming and going from YT recently...
Where are these kids now?
No idea, and if they could be traced, somehow I doubt they'd want to be contacted by strangers about this.
Viewers may be interested to see this Patch Stop episode too... ruclips.net/video/z_RkasWSP5E/видео.htmlsi=Plyfd_8k9_IA3MdF
Andi Peters keeping it real - top showbiz celebrities well i was rather hoping to see Bruce Willis or George Clooney..
You're saying Peter Simon ISN'T?!
@tenpasttwelve8931 he was in Godfather 2 & Pulp Fiction! 😂
Had this on vhs, I’m 27 and feel very lucky that I got to see these shows when I was younger. So much better than new kids tv
I volunteer on the real skarloy railway the one the rev w Audrey volunteer on
Love this episode When I was little I loved this one because it had Thomas
2:55 that looks like a German steam engine, why was it there in all places I wonder?
The Nene Valley used to have quite a large collection of European locos. Sadly, many of them have now left.
@TheBlueEM2 Either no longer there or scrapped long ago.
@@cupcakefairy87 I don't think any former NVR residents have been scrapped. Probably at a new home.
In its early days the NVR was known as the Nene Valley International Railway and had many European locomotives; it doesn't have so many now as has been stated by others but still has an operational Danish tank locomotive, a Polish tank locomotive and a Swedish "gate guardian", to name but a few - plus a Swedish diesel railcar.
@@TheBlueEM2 that makes sense. I’m not from the UK (I’m Australian) and therefore don’t know much about the railways over there but I’ve been introduced to British steam trains thanks to Thomas the Tank Engine. Thanks!
I find it episode BBC playdays the playground stop: Thomas the Tank Engine 1994 I’ve never thought see never before
You got anymore radio roo
I don't.
Even the kids get it right calling them engines
Thomas the Tank Engine and Dave Benson Phillips made my childhood.
Finally... a BBC crossover that ACTUALLY WORKS 😂
@@Bakuracel-np7rm here here, and no Jasmine Banks in sight either :]
How did I miss that episode?
This episodes certainly had a boost recently ;)
lol. I can't believe it. I haven't seen this episode in over 30 years, but next to Shane having to do Peter's job (and ending up in the gunge, which John Eccleston and Bobby Davro never did) after he fakes breaking his leg, this is my favourite episode of RTR out of its entire run. Thank you very much. You've made a 39-year-old child incredibly happy, lol. I'd also love to know what the real position was on the future of RTR. There's hints of "this is the last RTR" to "we'll do plenty more". All I do know is, when John Eccleston was brought in, the first few months were horrendous. Most of the games never ended up with anyone in the gunge, same with Peter and the final, the magic was lost. It wouldn't be until Bobby Davro come in, in season 4 that the final and the games become what they were in the Shane Richie era. All I do know is, the Shane Richie years were the best but, I would love either Peter Simon or Shane Richie to do some sort of podcast where they speak about 'RTR'. It still seems so secretive. I'd love to know everything about it. How the gunge tanks were filled, how it was filmed. Thankyou again for uploading this amazing episode. If you ever come across the episode where Peter "breaks his leg" so Shane ends up in the gunge, i'd love to see it. I'm still baffled how you have these episodes and why the BBC allow these classics to sit on a shelf somewhere, doing nothing. Can you comment on how you got these, or not? If anyone did go on 'RTR, can you tell us how it all worked on the day?
The Thomas fandom are gonna love this.
I remember first watching this episode on CBBC around 2001 and it was during a time where Nick Jr. the channel that show Thomas was taken off broadband due to arguments so this was kind of a treat for me.
It's weird because although the BBC failed to gain the rights to show Thomas & Friends despite the character appearing on the birthday cards during their CBBC block prior to the preschool programmes moving to CBeebies in February 2002, they actually had a few very close encounters showing Thomas & Friends; the 1950's episode of The Sad Story Of Henry on the 14th June 1953, showing the film Thomas & The Magic Railroad on the 1st January 2004 and again on the 29th December 2008, and now this episode of Playdays that features Nene Valley Railway's Thomas!😂
@ I know what you mean, season five nearly aired on CBBC though in 1998 plans fell through seemingly and it instead premiered on Cartoon Network just prior to them getting rid of the show and moving to Nick Jr.
@@JamieBoy-ij2ri I'd have honestly loved it if original Thomas aired on the BBC in an AU
OMG, I didn't know that Nene Valley Railway appeared on Playdays!😱 Of all the times that I've been there, I never knew this!
Back when kids shows were kids shows
Kids shows are still kids shows; we all just grew up.
Wow the NVR has changed a lot! Before the station building at Wansford was built and I think that miniature railway at Ferry Medows has long gone. I used to love watching playdays. I fondly remember the Roundabout stop with Mr Jolly. This one aired the year I was born!
An episode of Playdays aired the year someone was born? WHOEVER heard of it?
The miniature railway is still there and operating.
I’m amazed I don’t remember this episode as I used to watch Playdays almost religiously when I was a nipper
I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure there's a playdays episode that features Zoe Ball at Alton Towers.
Yes there is. genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/service_bbc_two_england/1995-04-18#at-10.00
@tenpasttwelve8931 Just as I suspected!!! I was looking through some old footage of Alton Towers from the 1990's a few years back and came across the footage of Zoe Ball at Towers and made me think, "I'm sure this looks like an episode of Playdays" thank you so much for helping me find the last piece of the puzzle.
@tenpasttwelve8931 Here's the clip of the footage I was telling you about starting from about 9:41. If you look very closely when it gets to 9:51 with the shot of the towers itself, where Zoe Ball is, you can just see Poppy sitting next to her. I didn't notice that until today.
@@JamesVlogsHomeBeyond There's no clip for me to look at.
You will be missed, Britt.
I’d have liked to see this if it was in the late 80s when I was little.
You would have to call this a visual time-capsule from 30 years ago, as Wansford and Ferry Meadows (misspelt as Perry Meadows in the credits) are now different to as they are now. Sadly the Ferry Meadows Miniature Railway doesn't have a steam locomotive.
I've been looking for this very episode Cheers for uploading it!
At this point, I'd like to meet someone who *hasn't* been looking for this episode. 😂
@ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do you have anymore rare Zzzap episodes please?
🤞
@ 🎉👍🏻
@@benwesley1899we hope so
great episode so far. I don't think Sir Vincent was strong enough to pull a passenger train like the teacher mentioned. but I think he could probably pull or shunt a few troublesome trucks
I used to watch Playdays all the time before I went to school but I never saw this episode thanks for sharing this and it’s a fitting tribute to Britt Allcroft may she rest in peace 👍💙🚂😢
This is possibly the best episode of this show ever! 😊
@@downeystudios2001 I couldn't agree more, and probably the most unexpected TV crossover I've ever seen.
This is such a lovely episode. Thank you so much ❤
Sir Vincent used to work at Leiston Works and it's really surprising to see Thomas on a show like this
FINALLY, I've been searching everywhere for this, I haven't seen this since the the 1st & only time when I was little, Thank You.
