Just cuz
How about a powder coated metal handrail with two attachment points (brackets) on the building with no blocks?
You’re not screwed, you’re board. lol.
Have fun falling down that drunk or in the snow
Bro those are some serious stairs! Nice work
Why tho😂
Why not though 😂
I've seen them like that when there's a view that they don't want a balustrade interrupting.
Touché @@bigbadbuilderllc
Those won’t be stairs they call them bleachers lol
Would you think they would be a liability being so wide?
@ my friend on a lake installed 20 feet of 4 step concrete steps off his lawn down to a sand court facing the lake.
Thanks for putting up this video, it came in very handy today! 👍
Farming suks
I would love to have a job like that look fun
BOSS! 💪🏽
I remember building my first set of stairs and how it took me a second to grasp the idea that you needed to make the bottom one shorter by a tread height and the top run shorter by the riser width
Caught a break on the weather today
I would love to watch a FPV of you and your crew building a deck. Set up a tripod and film the progress?
Do you work all the way until snow and then take the winter off?
@lorenrickey5481 no we keep going even when it snows
Dude you are trash.
I’m amazed at the scope of this project. How were you able to figure out the bid?
Break it down into pieces and count it up. Once you know your numbers it’s easy to bid!
I'm staggered that your boards aren't. 😂
Kamala carpenter
HI Going to order one. There is small and large. Any thought on best size to get? Thx Canada
@@vintage-jm2fv I’m kind of a minimalist so I like the little one. Easier to pack around.
That’s where experience kicks in
I put squash blocking in which was the right direction. The engineer just wanted to see more of it. So we added it. Didn’t take too long!
This dude is always out of breath in his videos 😂 Great work though as always!
@@ben.helmuth The leader has to hustle or the crew gets lazy 🤣. Also I’m partially permanently disabled from a job site injury so I have to push harder to keep up what used to be my normal pace.
Fail rebar isnt 3” from dirt
@@mikewilson3836 weird we passed inspection this morning
@ wierd musta got rebar away from dirt or inspector dont care 🤷
@ if it’s just simple deck footings the inspector doesn’t get picky. There’s still some county’s out here that don’t require rebar in minor deck footings.
The wood whisperer.
That’s not a deck, that’s a boardwalk!
Just needs a zip line to the beach!
How do you like the roof wedges?
Great but can slip if you step wrong!
Always cut back side with nail line towards your belly... that's how pros stack the table.
@@watchmework4874 new guys always have a hard time thinking of the board upside down. Once it clicks it clicks though. I keep my stock up. Slide a board towards me. Scribe my reveal. Flip board mark cut. Super fast 💨
Nice video. What determines how deep the all thread needs to penetrate into the concrete? Is there a standard depth?
Engineering or Simpson Guidelines would determine the depth. For most applications in Western Washington 9” would be required but I usually go 12” minimum.
Don’t tell your wife that😂
At 2:15, what distance did you install your trusses away from each other?
@@marine9583 the roof trusses are 24” oc. The floor joists are 19.2” oc.
Nice job man
Solid transition from siding to stone 👍
Unfortunately, your video is pressed too close to the subject and not capturing your cuts or bends. Maybe try again?
I see it now. I’ll try uploading again
Good call on the load path, props for taking proper action! Interior shear walls should be pretty standard now in new home construction, properly anchor/fastening them should be done every time. And if they aren't needed? Well, nothing wrong with going above and beyond
@@TheAMVDJ definitely too many people go bare minimum these days. Thanks for leaving a comment
Dont do drugs kids
@@captainnathan1164 hey bud
You think the gun makes a difference? About 50% of my 15 gauge nails are bending over with my M18 gun. I've tried both galvanized and griprite stainless steel
@@BallsWalls.Renovations The hardi trim is brutal on the guns. These metabo 15 gauge angle nailers are the only ones I’ve had actually hold up. Use the 2” full round head nails for trim to trim. 2-1/2” for trim to wall. Keep your gun oiled well and max out your pressure.
Is that the veneer screw on panels?
@@jonnyboi068 yeah. We’re here to side the house. Other people are doing the Versetta stone. Looks good though!
@@bigbadbuilderllc that’s awesome I do the stone and I’m also a finish sider .you can easily install that versetta stone
@@jonnyboi068 I was watching them do it. We almost got to do it. But the guy I got the work through ended up having down time. So their crew did it.
@@bigbadbuilderllc yeah you can easily do it next time. Get a diamond blade for your chop saw and touch up spray paint and get your money.
Damn, that’s a problem. Tub drain right over a I joist. What do you do to correct this?
@@lorenrickey5481 gotta put a head out there. I have a few videos up that show how.
Just my opinion, but I liked your narrative instead of music.
@@lorenrickey5481 didn’t have much to say and my buddy dropped an album out on all platforms so I showed support to him by spreading it around a little. I get it. A lot of people don’t like rap music. But I do. And I’m always going to support my people trying to do something for themselves.
@@bigbadbuilderllc I listen to all types of music from Youngblood, Black Keys, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Pink Floyd, Devo, ect …. Just wasn’t expecting music from your posts. Glad you support your guys.
I dont even know framing how am i supposed to know plumming and electrical sht two now
All shear walls must terminate in a another shear diaphragm, or what are they doing? That wall needs to be attached to the subfloor diaphragm. A joist directly on top with clips or edge nailing, then nailed to the subfloor would do it. Second floor walls, or any wall below the a roof system need to be extended to the roof. The idea is that they act together to spread force from earthquake, hurricanes or other jarring events. If they aren't connected, they are doing anything.
@@jbonet4750 the repair was squash blocks 2’ oc. Wasn’t too bad. Took a couple hours due to tight space in there.
@@bigbadbuilderllc well done, just keep moving forward. As one of my old framing buddies used to say "its not the size of the mistake, its the speed of the recovery that matters"
That’s a good saying
It would be great if you can show how you connect all of these riser lights together
@@lvhr6176 next lights I do I’ll show it all.
Beautiful work man :)
this guy: "not rated for ground contact" also this guy: *lays board on the ground in the wet*
@@scon1425 we use it for mudsill. Which gets a sill sealer. Therefore there’s no contact between wood and concrete
I mean even when its cut to length and even, the angles still dont make sense and it looks like like a kid building his first wooden fort from construction scraps. "bad" & “shit“ are the only words that describe this abomination. Its funny he made sure to describe the quality of his construction within his business name and thinks “ this unfinished hellscape is the work i want to show off to try and get more customers“
How do the angles not make sense? You don’t understand what’s happening here? How would you build it better?
Steel and concrete are not ny trades, but i myself even know that this is a shitty job just by the placements of the rods and there is no tie wire 😂
And what strength do wire ties offer?
DR Horton would build an entire neighborhood with that much lumber! 😅
Too funny
Nice!
Looks good from my view.
