Topnotch!
Cool!
Hi Alex I’m an Italian student looking forward to study at Tsinghua next year (Aerospace Engineering), since I saw you’re also doing your master I wanted to ask you what did they ask you during the interview, also was the interview fully in Chinese? Or a combination of Chinese and English? Cause I speak Chinese but I still cannot discuss complicated topics fluently. Sadly cannot find much informations about it
@@tommasodallamico4531 for me interview was in English. I guess it will depend on your course, but there are quite a lot of foreigners at Tsinghua who don’t speak Chinese yet so I think most professors can speak both languages.
thanks for uploading this, it’s cool to see what things are like over in China, honestly not as different as I thought it would be (currently in uni in America!)
@@xRobert1016x haha yeah surprisingly similar! Glad u enjoyed
Thank you for sharing video about Tsinghua Univ, that is a very huge uni. I really put a lot of interest to this uni as it facilitate students to have a physical exercise or do sports. But is there a field or club for archery?
thank you very much!! i'm planning to apply to tsinghua this year (for a bachelor degree) and this video so motivated me!!!
Are you doing your masters or PhD?
Masters
@alexsimpson7048 Okay, I will be coming to the University of Science and Technology of China to also do my masters in software engineering
@@gideonkofiamoappau8488 nice, hope it goes well!
@alexsimpson7048 thank you
Hi alex , I am planning to come tsinghua for postgraduate studies . can you tell me average monthly cost of living at Beijing?
If you stay in dorms and eat canteen food it can be really low, about $500/month. If you eat outside campus, rent outside, travel a lot, things like this, probably $1000 to $1500.
I liked so much your video, it’s pretty interesting your research topic though. I’m so excited because by next month I’ll be in 清华 for next semester doing my masters degree in Public Administration, so hope to enjoy the journey!
Ooh exciting, hope you enjoy Tsinghua! Glad you liked the video 😊
dart programming language
Yup love flutter so we can quickly ship to iOS + Android
The former chairman(president) of China, HuJintao(胡锦涛), also graduated from Tsinghua majoring in Water Conservancy Project, got the Bachelor Degree.
Lovely video Alex. Which country are you from?
@@danieldiii thanks! I’m from England
is your program for undergrad or postgrad ?
Postgrad 🧑🎓

good, TSU and PKU are dream university for chinese students, enjoy your campus life
@@xiaokangAndy very grateful I get to experience it 😊
Had this video randomly recommended to me and really enjoyed it! How did you learn Chinese because it sounds really impressive if it's your second language!
glad you enjoyed! Learning Chinese was a long journey lol, lots of self-study and watching TV shows. It's hard to fit it all in a comment so I'll be making a video on it soon!
@@alexsimpson7048 Hi can you please tell me did you learn chinese before going to china or after you arrived? Were you able to learn Chinese while simultaneously learning at university or did you have to LEARN CHINESE FIRST! Then get admitted to university? I'm trying from my country for tsingua but I have no clue about the whole chinese learning process and how many years I have to spend learning chinese before I can actually do uni classes.
@@reversicle212 Tsinghua have both English and Chinese taught programs. If you don’t speak Chinese yet, you can apply for an English taught program and learn Chinese while you are here. Personally I learned Chinese before I arrived, and took a mix of Chinese and English classes while I was here. To attend Chinese taught classes in math, comp sci, things like this, you need at least HSK 5. For philosophy, politics and some other subjects, you need HSK 6, since I guess there is essay writing. If you work hard, you can reach that level in approx 2 years. I’ll be making a video soon on how I learned Chinese and what strategies worked best for me, so hopefully that helps too :)
Very enjoyable video, thanks for sharing your experience and very interesting thesis topic too. Good luck with your studies!
@@breezearoha thanks, glad u found it enjoyable!
dream university
@@ellentan5917 yup I feel lucky to be here
quite good video
thanks!
the most elite university just selects the most elite students in china, and this might hard for you to imagine the one who can reach 700points in gaokao, though THU may fall a little behind those top universities in the world
yeah I think Gaokao is more difficult than the exams we take in the UK lol. For my admission they mostly looked at my undergrad grades + an interview. I got a perfect 4.0 GPA in a math/econ undergrad so I expect that helped me get in. Also I speak Chinese so that probably helped too.
很优秀了
Slyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Blud changed race when he used that app
Wow that’s impressive😮
