The Loomis method (which is the most famous of that type of mathematical system) is very popular and not many people are open to seeing it's down-side, which is that you end up with quite generic faces that all look like they're from a 1950s comic book. I've learnt not to criticise it because people can take it personally...it's a bit of a cult. It's frustrating because it's not really representative of the human face and I wonder if it's popularity is because it's a kind of crutch if you're not confident. Btw, I have the Cober book and it's very much worth getting hold of. And if anyone is learning crosshatching, I'd recommend checking out Robert Crumb. His crosshatching is incredible - he said that "Drawing is simply an excuse to crosshatch" : )

I’m 7th Gen Australian with Irish/Scottish heritage so have a biased opinion I guess but everything about this short is just wrong lol Can you do one of these drawings of your opinion of an Aussie? Taking the piss or genuine it doesn’t matter lol. This is the only video of yours I’ve seen so havnt seen what your content is like but I’ll give it a gander EDIT: looking at your other videos I see your art is very….bath salt induced style hahah looking at the sardine drawing especially(which is well done) I dunno if you choose to do this style for your channel to reflect your commentary or nah lol do you have a more “serious” style that you’re good at like realism or is that not your fancy?
