Anchorage, Alaska: Recommendations for a 2-day trip
The beauty of Anchorage, Alaska is to be seen to be believed. We spent a few days enjoying the crisp cool mountain air and unparalleled natural abundance in June 2024.

4. Visit Portage Glacier - a true ice-age relic

Part 2 of our June 2024 Alaska Trip. The Portage Glacier is a scenic short drive from Anchorage. The 1 hour narrated cruise was equal parts beautiful and serene. The clouds started to clear out as we made our way to the glacier and it made the views all the more stunning, if that's possible! Snippets from our June 2024 Alaska Trip. By far the most stunning views I've ever seen. Nature at its finest. We drove through Turnagain Arm and visited the Wildlife Conservation Center at Girdwood. We spotted grizzly and black bear, moose, caribou, bison and so many more beautiful animals who have been rescued and are being nurtured back to health. Day 2 of our Portland trip was about exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest city. We took the Portland Spirit Willamette River Sightseeing Cruise, drove around the city, visited the International Rose test garden and finished off the day at the Lan Su Chinese Garden. Mom and I took a girl's trip to Portland this year. During our first full day in Portland, we drove out to see Multnomah Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in the US. Amtrak Cascades Train ride from Seattle to Portland - Summer 2023

Mom and I took the train from Seattle to Portland in June 2023. The Amtrak Cascades takes about 3.5 hours and is a convenient way to get to Portland if you don’t want to drive. I’ve always loved train rides and this was no exception. We got to savor sweeping views of quaint towns, farmlands, small train stations and the Pacific Northwest wilderness. Mom and I visited Mt. Rainier National Park a few years ago. The drive from Seattle is beautiful and it is one of the best day trips we've ever taken together. Visiting Red Rock Country, Sedona, Arizona

I visited Sedona, Arizona with friends few years ago. The red hued landscapes are beautiful. There is so much to do and see, I definitely need to go back again soon!
