I made some comments last night during the premier that I want to reiterate here. Quanita and the Cannabis Community Council never presented at any of the public comments sessions hosted by the Portfolio Committee of the Department of Justice. Her comments about a lack of public participation are false - those who made contributions helped win some notable victories in the recently assented Cannabis for Private Purposes Act (7 of 2024). To say that the Cannabis Community was handed a Google Doc to comment on shows that there was little engagement from Quanita and the CCC with the Bill (said Google Doc) in its various draft versions. Plainly, it is a poor show of activism to refuse the means available to truly advocate for change. Complaining is easy, acting with intention for real change is hard. Quanita has also created a lot of division and pain within the Cannabis Community in recent months, acting against a High Court interdict to stop her defamation campaign against Herbanville. False accusations of these investors to Blunted (renamed to High Priestess) being racist online - Facebook, TikTok, Instagram - should be taken into account here, too. We should not be giving a platform to someone who acts so poorly when they do not get their way. CAnnabis businesses are still businesses and will fail if due diligence is not followed. I ask the Cannabis Community of South Africa to start holding those who claim to speak for us accountable. It is long overdue. There is no more room for people like Quanita to cause damage to our community, which remains vulnerable, and therefore exploitable. Enough with the empty promises already!

I feel like the children's section is the most harmful of the new bill to society and no I am not suggesting that small children smoke dagga.....and ofcourse children must be protected, however, I feel like this section has the harshest penalty 15 years if im not mistaken, correct me if im wrong, so if someone wanted to make a problem for me, or anyone, all they have to do is release a vid of me puffing in front of my many grandchildren and thats what I could face, and in the old days I used to go to court a lot to help people who stood to lose their children because they consumed the plant.....and I fear a society of pimping being programmed here....I also fear the mentality of trying to keep children away from the actual plant when really they need to learn about the ECS and how their bodies work.....we are fortunate to have the ruling where rasta children and indigenous children in the rural are allowed to assist in the ganja garden, it is imperative for children to be in the presence of the human companion plant....because we share 42.6% of our genome with Cannabis sativa L and this is the biological proof that all humans need the DNA exchange that the plant offers to us all big and small! it upsets me that pe0ple can get paraletic drunk in front of their children display domestic violence but the plant is not allowed in this realm, i disagree with this and it also looks like they dont really want parents to administer this medicine to their own children and this is very concerning. I honestly cannot think of how alcohol consumption in the presence of children can possibly be safer than Cannabis consumption?? im probably the only doctor who will stand up and say that consumption is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding and not only safe but absolutely essential.....and back it up with science..... i see now in Cali and Iowa and soon Cananda CBD is becoming illegal and parents of sick children are now having to relocate to Colorada and other legal states, this is atrocious and they are playing the "child safety card" to seize the plant once and for al. I sincerely hope this doesnt happen in our country but we are blessed by the privacy ruling. I would love to hear what you all have to say!
