1983 CB1100F Resto-Mod RMI

This is the first 1100F resto-mod that I built using a 2012 CBR600RR swingarm, 1992 CBR600 F2 forks and wheels, along with many other upgrades. The motor was bored out to 1123cc's and rebuilt to run better than new. The Hindle exhaust sounds great and the bike is a total blast to ride.

I bought this bike in late August of 2017 and tucked it into the corner of my shop to wait it's turn to be restored. Over the next couple of years, I picked I away at various bits, powder coating and rebuilding as I went. Carbs were completely overhauled and stayed in the box for the next couple of years. Finally, I was all caught up on other work and in April, I dug into this one with a vengea...
CB1100F Resto-mod "RMIII" Final Walkaround Video
Просмотров 7 тыс.3 года назад
This is the 1983 Honda CB1100F Super Sport that my friend Vincenzo brought to me in late August of 2020. Originally wanting a general restoration, he saw my resto-mod and decided he had to have one. So the next 7 months were spend disassembling, cleaning, media blasting, powder coating, rebuilding, and reassembling what became a totally different bike. It runs great and handles like a much newe...
CB1100F RMIII Walk-Around Video

This is just a quick overview of the bike I started working on in late August of 2020. It came to me originally wanting a refresh, but then the owner decided he wanted a resto-mod like the two I built for myself. Shortly after, I started tearing it down to the bare frame and started ordering parts. Now it's April 9, 2021 and the rebuilt engine was fired up for the first time last night. Once I ...
Vincenzo's CB1123 Motor - First Start

This rebuilt motor was bored out to 1123 cc's and got new chains, tensioners, guide, and lots of other goodies. It was installed back into his CB1100F resto-mod a couple of weeks ago and was finally ready to fire up on 4/8/21. All it took was a little bit of cranking and it fired right up. The audio doesn't do the awesome Chris Lee racing exhaust justice. The bike really growls!

This is the sneak preview of my next video, which details how to reinstall a Honda DOHC engine. This one in particular is a rebuilt engine for a 1983 CB1100F. Enjoy!

Tom J's CB1100F Rebuilt Engine

This is a 1983 Honda CB1100F Super Sport that was sitting in a basement for the past 10 years. The owner, Tom J, hired my friend Peter and I to rebuild his motor and get the bike road-worthy again. The motor has been bored out to 1123 cc's and fitted with a big bore kit. New valves, cam chains, tensioners, and guide were included in the rebuild, along with various other goodies. I powder coated...

Just a day in the life of my beloved candy apple red 1123 resto-mod. The audio in this video doesn't really capture the true sound of the Chris Lee custom exhaust. When its revved, it resonates throughout the entire neighborhood! This bike is pure joy to ride.

Thank you!
Huge CBF fan, interested in the fender elimination kit you mentioned and the brackets to move the turn signals in closer, please provide a source for them !!! Also interested in possibly hiring you to do my 81 CB900F if your available !!!
My Gs500f just reached 20,000 miles valves hage never been Adjusted since factory it runs great but ticks some times is that normal for these bikes ? It’s not a super loud ticking but definitely does tick every time I drive it
How often u recommend changing the oil on this bike? I’ve put about 1,000 miles since my last change
Every 3k-5k miles should do the trick
2t?
Hey I got the gs500f 2007 has 19,000 miles is that a lot for these bikes ? Or should I be fine for a while?
Just change the oil regularly and you should be fine for a long time.
Mine is almost at 50k miles so just with enough maintenance and it would last a while, check out my RUclips ima be posting more about the gs500f
That looks and sounds good . Can i put big knobby tires on one of those ? Im asking you because you look like you know more about it .
I believe i have the same one . 1983 cb1100f with airshock not coil springs in back ? Mine needs lits of little things . Brakes , clutc , shift lever for the pushrod is missing . Most of it is still there .
I have the same exact bike and it is running like shit and everyone is telling me to rebuild the carbs? What’s the Process and can I do it at home
Yes you can do it at home. They'll have to come out and be disassembled and cleaned. Pay very close attention to where everything goes. Take pictures and tag hoses or connections so you don't forget.
The holy grail of Interceptors. Love to find a nice one.
Beautiful!!
Great looking and sounding motor Tom!!
Nice job Tom, those wheels look great powder-coated.
Great bike. FYI, Honda Australia raced these instead on the VF1000R because they were quicker ( primarily handling). Mal Campbell ( Honda Australia jockey) was great on the VF1000.
Very interested in having one built for me, got a new 750f in the box when i was kid, would very much like to own one again, but the 1100 restored, let me know if that's what you could offer !
Hi Robert. I'll be happy to talk to you in regards to building you a CB1123 Resto-mod. Please email me your contact info and I'll get right back to you . tkerxhalli@yahoo.com
Wow, that looks Fantastic Tom!
Nice bike Tom, I love the 1983 CB1100F.
Bruh just said just needed a lil good carbs cleaning 🤦♂️ smh anyways hey buddy just did mine and she’s amazing but she’s spitting a lot what next on the list just got my sprockets and getting tires next deciding to get my pit cock for the spitting she doing cause it’s causing it to turn off and ooo yeah oil cooler getting order but yes main question u think my headers will be worthy ,? Due to the spitting and o yeaa all her hoes been cleaned out everything nd getting a air filter any recommendations to get good aftermarket parts :,) will want and need a kit soon she’s naked <3 :)
That sound!!!
The wizard and my dream bike
I can build one just like it for you!
Beautiful restoration, in my opinion it's a little down on Hp though. The bottom end is a bit chattery that could b the cause. I'd only be happy with 120hp with big bore kit and lighter wheels full exhaust. still nice Restoration though.
i like the way it look because of the single shock spring (is that what it called?)
Is it fuel.injected?
No, this is carbureted.
Where did you find those gauges?
Those are made by Speedhut. I'm a dealer for them. Go to their website and check out what they have to offer. Lots of cool gauges for sure, and you can customize them.
Are you selling this bike?
Yes, it's for sale. I have another one and really don't need two, so it needs to go to a new home.
@@tomkerxhalli1783 where are you Tom? And what kind of dollar you after?
@@ouimetco I'm in Worcester, Massachusetts. I'm asking $15,000 or best reasonable offer. If you're interested, email me at tomk1960@yahoo.com and we can discuss in more detail.
Yeah, awesome sound. Well done. Do you ride this on the street?
Yes, all the time. I'm out for lunch right now and rode it out to a hot dog stand near the local reservoir. The bike is a blast to ride.
Would this swingarm work on an 81 900f? I have a to of questions, I'm no longer on fb, we were on the cb 750,900,1100f page at the same time...but like I said...I left fb.
Yes, it can be made to fit a 900F no problem. The swingarm has to be modded and some frame mods/welding are necessary, but not super difficult if you know a good welder.
Thank you Tom
It sounds great! Subscribed after I seen your 83' CB1100F restoration.
and the vf 1000 f ?
I sold that a couple of years ago. Wasn't riding it enough to justify keeping it. Great bike though.
Nice bike Tom! Do you have any pictures of your rear swingarm + monoshock conversion. I'm planning doing my 900f '82 this kind of conversion. Thanks!
Hi Maxime. Contact me at tomk1960@yahoo.com and let me know what you're looking for. I have quite a few pics. Tom
Nice work Tom! It sounds good...now get those panels on.
Man, it's beautiful.
Sweet. I just bought an '82 CB900F that I just started to do a mile resto-mod on. I'm also in Mass.
Where are you located? I have lots of parts for these bikes and lots of experience, if you need any help. Email me at tomk1960@yahoo.com
Where did you get the repro side panels from? They look amazing.
Thanks! The side covers came from 4-into-1.com. You can also get them from David Silver Spares. They're perfect repros and made of ABS, so stronger than the originals.
Music to my hears nice nice nice mate
Nice to see that someone else besides me restoring bikes . Hope it turns out great
That bike came out so nice that someone hired me to build them one. He's loving it!
You absolutely nailed it on this one Tom! Outstanding!!👍👊
nice to have help. i got mine in and out alone by laying the bike on its side and lifting the frame off.
WOW !! That looks incredible. Congratulations on an amazing job. I'VE owned 2 cb1100f's in my life but neither were this cool.
Thanks - I really appreciate the compliments!
Cracking job. 👍👍❤️
Nicely done Tom. Beautiful work. And that exhaust sounds amazing.
Beautiful example.
That is one nice CB1123F with some very tasty modern upgrades!! Love your work Tom!
She's a beauty 😍
Love it Tom.
I think the owner will too!
Adore your work
Hi Charles - thanks! Subscribe to my RUclips channel, Tom's Cycle Recycling. When the video is all done, it will be posted and will feature some shots of the bike all done. It's coming out really nice.
