Break again MJ’s own albums couldn’t even beat the impact of Thriller so it’s just phenomenal how MJ did that at so young of an age as well btw MJ was the exact age of 24 years old during this performance he was born for this moment and those aren’t just any audience me ever those were his peers and at the exact moment they were like “You know what you’re The Man now” he became Thee Main Attraction even tho he was always Thee Main Attraction he’s just otherworldly his craftsmanship was so sharp on stage even at that young of an age and the fact this isn’t even the best Billie Jean performance in my honest opinion but it’s 1000% Thee Most Legendary Billie Jean performance of them all also this became so legendary in later performances MJ was thinking about switching up certain aspects of his Billie Jean Performance but his fans wanted to see him perform it in the same format as Motown 25 that he just kept the same aspects down the line even tho he’ll switch up certain aspects of it in later performances adding in breakdowns,epic intros leading up to him performing it,outfits etc. but the performance dynamics of it all stayed the same one last thing MJ didn’t even do the Moonwalk during rehearsals cause he wanted to save it for the actual performance so during rehearsals he’ll perform everything else but the Moonwalk talk about keeping a low profile.)

It was a mix of his natural hair hairpiece w/ a French braid in this music video in particular. MJ didn’t start wearing full on wigs till a year after this contrary to popular belief in which started in 1998. Gotta remember in 1984 he got second degree burns to his scalp from the Pepsi commercial. But I love this hairstyle and he ate w/ the outfit he wore and the choreography looks far from scary to me looks like royalty tbh! To answer your question on Michael Jackson’s hair evolution in 1984 he was involved in an unfortunate circumstance where he was filming a Pepsi commercial and the incident occurred when MJ was on top of the stage where the pyro was at he did many takes but during the take he was coming down the steps the pyro went off early setting MJ’s hair a blaze and he suffered second degree burns to his scalp which permanently kept him in pain for the remainder of his lifetime which resulted in him taking painkillers rightfully so cause with that type of pain to your scalp not even surgery can repair that. So with that being said from 1984-1997 it was nothing but a combination of hair extensions & hair piece’s that his hairdresser would do for him named Karen Faye she worked on his hair from 1982-2009 which is basically to the end of his life. And contrary to popular belief, MJ didn’t start wearing wigs fully until 1998, also people can go from afro,curly, to straight (and vice versa) with different hair treatments, it's not uncommon and it's not a Michael Jackson thing either.✍🏽👑💯
