Double Cardan Disassembly WJ Grand Cherokee Part 1
Just wanted to say this was super helpful!
Hole saw bit?
stand it up and use a roll pin punch or drill bit and drive the spring pin from the other side to inside
You got the part number for this bushing?
nice job !! what kind of bushing you used?
I used a whole cutting bit and then the wire brush to clean it up and it was a lot easier for anyone attempting. Thanks for the idea!
Lol....Wow
What part did you grease
Yep, this just goes to show you are better off buying a replacement seat lol
If you don’t have a chiesel you can use a punch.
I would have used a bolt that's the same diameter as that damned pin!
Thank you 🙏
I think you do a good job, it's all about attention to detail. Tolerances gotta be tight, lol " change all of your shitty old components" lol
Yeah I bought an expensive stabilizer and it had a hiccup in it. When you transition from One direction to the other it would have about a one inch gap or draw a bubble or something in it and that's what it was causing my death wobble that little gap in the hydraulics.
Where did you get the bushings
Which year model?
I pressed it out in under a minute and didn't have to pull the springs.
Thanks for the video. Any idea how to disconnect the horizontal motor, specifically how to detach those '"tubes" from the rails?
great vid, but that tool is a punch, not a chisel...
Great video. Quick question, can I replace a bad horizontal motor with a good vertical motor? Are they both the same? Thank you!
Great job
PAINFUL to watch
How hard is it to put the seat back on to the track?
Did you test this out?
Gotta love the judgmental people in these comments lol... your trying to be another resource for info on the internet and these keyboard warriors are judging you for something they would never do... record themselves working on this. Thanks for the video
it was like a train wreck, i couldn't stop watching you make this job look so hard. lol
Thanks for making the video.I guess someone must make replacement gears somewhere.Might be a CNC job later on.
Have a look at Bross Auto Parts 😀
Have you had any problems with the polyurethane bushings trying to push back out?

You are fighting yourself this whole time. A c clamp would make this faster and easier
Great Video 👍
It’s a lot easier to just get a punch that matched the outside diameter of the sleeve pound it through and the a large socket to pound out rubber then a chisel to fold the rest on its self and it comes right out
Greath job bro....i try to fix my seat..!!!!!!
Muito bom 👍
🙌 Promo_SM!!
I would put all new u joints at that point while it’s on the bench 😌
I usually do, this one was just in really good shape. The next shaft that I will be tackling needs a full rebuild. Stay tuned.
Wish changing the engine air filter on these things was just as easy.
Thanks for the video!
Thank you
Thanks doing mine this Sunday.. thanks 🙏
How long does it take for all of the oil to drain out?
Thank you for sharing. Much appreciated.
What is part number of oil filter?
15400-plm-a02
What weight oil and how much? Thanks!
90 weight oil should work
Lets say you know nothing about cars but your GF frantically begged you to refill the oil in her car while it was dark and raining one night and you accidentally went about 1" above the fill line when checking the dip stick... the bolt shown at 0:34 is how to drop out an extra lil bit to avoid frothing or is 1" above the line not worth the hassels??
Too late to be relevant, but syphoning is best
Where in Maryland are you from?
Thanks man, first oil change coming up soon on mine.
Thanks....how about one on that air filter? It seems fairly buried/hidden
Great work man!
