Good axes. But hand made? Be serious. They made them this way because it was quick.
I have 3. Living 10 miles from W.
wetterlings...RIP :(
What is wrong with Wetterlings?
Closed:-(
I fail to see how they claim "Hand Forged" when the machines do all the work.
O'
This is art.

Sehr Klasse ... :-)
open die forged in a press and sold as hand forged 😂
So this is hand forging?
Good job embarrassing yourself for no reason
and my axe
My thoughts, exactly. hahah
"special inlaid edge steel"? That's not even a term. I think you mean laminated steel. There would be no reason to make an axe from laminated steel. Lamination is done to provide flex or for the aesthetics of a blade. Also, your other comments show a complete lack of knowledge on the subject of blacksmithing or hand forged steel. It's like saying the sharpener in the video is not a craftsmen because he's not pedaling the grinding wheel. Ridiculous.
Finns det ett vegetariskt alternativ?
A traditional blacksmith will actually call the person using a semi automated powerhammer like in this video a programmed robot. You basically do not need to have as much skill to make something using these tools as making them entirely by hand. You can basically train a person to use this machine in days whereas blacksmithing an ax the traditional way by hand takes years to learn to do it efficiently and fast. Also these axes are not made with a special inlaid edge steel.
I love my Wetterlings 19" Nice to see the production craftsman at work. Would be cool if each maker stamped their symbol/mark on the bade also.
rock klassiker lol great to see a place that still use proper craftsmanship and skill in a industrial production. This is how stuff used to be made, mostly by hand and to a standard that would give you a tool for life. Now it's all planed obsolescence and crap made in china. Not all, but more things should be made the way wetterlings does it.
Wow. Thats awesome! Never thought is get to see how my axe is made
That guy has job security.
thanks for posting one of my favorite axes and a fine company also. all good buzz
wow i love any kind of axe or blade that is forged hmmmmmmmmmm gonna have to get me one now
New York? Of all the places to send an axe...
absolutely amazing
It kinda made me chuckle when he was using an axe to make an axe.
meat loaf fans, huh
Awesome vid! I need to break down and just buy one.
@Spudtx I have their carpenter's axe.. the steel is as fine as the high quality chisels I have from Lie Nielsen and other premium makers.. handle wood and shape are also outstanding.. you can't go wrong if you buy one of their axes.. just make sure you are honest with yourself as to what you really need out of your axe and match the model to the task..
god it took that guy along time to pack that axe at the end.....
a lot of work for such a great product at such a low price! if it were made here with the same quality it would be over $100 bucks.i love my forest axe, thank you guys
excellent video, we love your axes here in the states, keep up the good work.
Great vid, I can't believe more people aren't watching this!
Great quality and craftsmanship... was cool to see the way they are made from beginning to end!
Those were some of the most sloppily made axes you can get. That's why they went out of business.
