I love this album and wish more people liked it too. So underrated. The only problem I have with this album is Lars' snare drum, its just to loud and high, i think if they had turn his snare down even 25% the album would be so much better. They made the no solo thing work with all the heavy and catchy fun guitar rifts. If you are a guitarist like me, play Some Kind of Monster or Frantic and tell me you didnt have fun. Are they simple and repeat over and over? Yes but they make it fun.

Came back from their new 2024 live version; it surely sounded good, but people gotta stop blindly praising how James sounded even better than ever / than the old days (and actually listen to more bootlegs in the late 90s and early 2000s) 😢 0:30 that growl alone was miles better than any version from 2004-2024…

Idk what people are saying about the snare it’s good on the heavy parts but if it was a bit toned down on the clean bits it would be perfect

This song reminds of Incredible Hulk. Cause when I closed my eyes and visualized one of the radical heroes. Plus the phrase that goes “Don’t get me angry, you won’t like me I am angry!” And I so did it! That was beyond motivating.

ESP Guitars must have been livid with James and Kirk using Gibsons so much during this era.

I remember watching this on tv that night…20 freaking years ago. Crazy.

I'll never understand why they left this song off the setlist for basically a decade before this performance. They played it like 3 times post-black album tour. It's always a highlight of any show they ever play it at, so it's just really odd.

This album still resonates with me. I was battling a lot in my life and this album felt like a soundtrack, especially this song. Lost a business I loved because of a business partner embezzling and not just him but my wife as well. Destroyed me at the time. I fought hard to get custody of my kids. Which I did. All while being destroyed business wise. And tore to shreds over it. I kept saying was shot me again, I ain't dead yet.

Always bugged me how incorrect Rob plays the intro bass on this live version.

They sound like shit! You can tell all the beef their were having amongst the group but I'm glad the recovered from that all that bullshit! **Go watch "Some kind of monster" movie u gonna see why I'm speaking like this of one of my top3 metal groups

St Anger is the best Metallica album in the same way that In Utero was the best Nirvana album. Its low-fi and raw. It captures the real emotion of the band at the time. Am sure anyone born in the 70s and raged in the 90s can relate❤
