I agree with Wallace’s evaluation of Tracy herself and her book.

Tracy’s book is that of a young girl who didn’t go to college yet was very bright, always knew how to cross the mark. Tracy divided people into either you were for her or against her- never in between or more complex than that . Either Tracy was for you or she wasn’t. Her insensitive lack of a consoling remark to Chris after Tracy won the 79 Open , after Tracy broke Chris’s streak of 4 straight wins . A year later and after a break Chris came back in 1980 open to wipe out Austin once she figured out Tracys game and then Tracy was never again a threat to Chris’s ranking . Tracy tried to fight back but refused to listen to BJKing in regards to stretching before practice. Tracy had OCD training routines that didn’t serve her well.Tracy needed to train to be quicker up and back where she was vulnerable to the drop shot and change of pace shots. Chris figured this puzzle out and once she did Tracy no longer rented space in Chris’s head .
