    Based upon the mom saying "umm.." 31 times in the first 4 minutes and 37 seconds, it really does become questionable as to which person is actually retarded in this video. Even though she was on pace for saying it over 55 times in just over 8 minutes, I didn't waste my time watching any of it after the 4:37 mark. Just like mom does with her daughter, we don't want to give you any attention when you are acting this way. 💁🏻‍♂️ PS - You could make an amazing GIF at 5:09.

    I just read your story. I'm going to tell you something that I'm sure you already know. Your daughter is so cute and beautiful. Some people use those wonderful adjectives as a way to sound compassionate. In yours and your daughters case, screw that. She's really a doll. My youngest son had a very difficult birth. Dr should've taken him after the first time his heart beat dropped to 42 bpm. But nope! He waited two more times. I used to think Taylor had big limitations. Again! Screw that. He has worked at Walmart for 5 years. He's pretty much an everything man & goes where he's needed. He was not hired because he has "issues." He stays on because customers love him & he does as he's told. He plays bass guitar in the church praise band. He's had one car accident after driving for 7 years. It was not his fault. Taylor rocks. Flick does as well. So do you. God bless & Merry Christmas.

    My friends youngest sister has Downs syndrome. She is amazing & she just turned 21. Her parents were tested, it came back negative. You can judge a book by it's cover, but you'd miss all the goodness from inside 💙💜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    I don't think it's you- I think it's time you had some constructive away time. Because ALL of us, as first time mothers, can get overwhelmed and start sinking, and it's not because she has DS. I know I had days like that - even weeks like that and my daughter is borderline Autism (whatever that means). Give yourself permission to have bad days- days, when it's time to get outside help and out of the house for some YOU TIME. Shoot my daughter is turning 13 and I still have those same feelings that I'm doing it wrong and that I'm hurting her in some way that I can't see, and all the other parents know what they're doing. That's usually when I know I need a break.

  • @robertami8632
    @robertami8632 3 года назад

    I don't understand why you think that she doesn't understand...she cannot communicate with you but that doesn't mean she doesn't understand you. You would be totally blown away by what they understand...I'm in an International school in China, my DS student is from Singapore and speaks Chinese but she's in the all English program first grade with me. I teach every subject except PE and Art and I can have whole conversations with her and she 'understands' even when she doesn't understand all the English. And you can definitely tell when I misunderstand her- haha she stomps her foot and puts her hands on her hips and usually asks me "what are you doing?" haha. She's still has the brain of a child which is soaking up information like a sponge. She may not know what to do with that information but they understand - she's probably better at understanding people better than you- that's where they get their empathy.

  • @robertami8632
    @robertami8632 3 года назад

    The biggest thing I heard was that the learning assistant is 'going to get her glasses' when she throws them...I NEVER do that with my DS student. That's 'her' stuff and not my responsibility- and I make her have her 'own responsibilities' just like any other student. Once you start babying them too much they don't see the relationship in a healthy way. IF she's (or any student) is allowed to feel some sort of control over the adults around them they are quick to pick it up and listen to them as superiors.

    • @teijaflink2226
      @teijaflink2226 2 года назад

      And this doesn't do any good for anyone (specially the special needs student), they wont learn and when they're older this type of behavior wont be at all seen as cute, could even lead them to dangerous situations.
