I watched another video which was better. They hired a guide and a porter and described each place and they were supporting the economy better with their tourist dollars and showing the food menu's and food. They demonstrated what the inside of the tea houses looked like and the amenities too, the beds, toilets, showers, and even bed sizes and commented on the weather too. It was way more comprehensive and lots of comments about how helpful the guide was too, and the porter carrying their extra stuff, so that they did not have to do that. He also explained that by hiring a porter for 12 bucks a day--it helped the porter who then learned the routes and learned how to eventually become a guide and moved up the tourism ladder. It also instructed on how to tip these people adding to their income and helping the economy since 95 percent of these people all live beneath the poverty line. If I were going to do this kind of trip, I would hire a company to plan my trip, which would cover all my tea house stays and pay for my meals, except for extras, and then plan on having cash for extras and to pay for a porter and plan for a nice tip for both in American dollars of course. It just seems to be more polite if trekking in their country to be accommodating to them, and to be nice to their children and greet them too. These people do not smile and seem grouchy on their video. Bummer.

Why did you go both up and down via Tengboche when there is a much more impressive high trail on the opposite side of the valley via Phortse? Vastly better views, lots of wildlife and practically no trekkers. Takes the same amount of days on the way up.
