i think for the drainage problem i would invest in a few metal culverts to stretch out the drainage field and catch any other gold that might get by all the other peace's.

Parker, when you clean out the sluices and then separate the gold out of the heavies send the remaining heavies to a lab and have them find out everything left in the heavies. There are rare earth metals that are worth far more than gold by weight. There could be enough rare earth metal still in the heavies to be worth more than the gold you separated out. Back 70 years or so with the Schnabels in North Branch and my family the Geobles in Sandstone our families were friends and possibly third or fourth cousins. Best wishes Parker.

this area of the Klondike have families that have been mining a long time and they have guys like Mitch that have learned mechanics since childhood on the parents mining claims and like Mitch they can do it all. as far as going mining from scratch even with Mitches talent it is a daunting endeavour that can empty your pockets before you see any gold . the first/biggest challenge is getting a claim with a profitable amount of gold in it as it can cost a lot of money to buy one that is good. it only takes some bad luck with broken machines or some other unforeseen event and up in this remote area your finished. risk is an understatement.😵‍💫
