Post saline flush goes over same amount of time as the medication! All l heard was use a push pause method to administer the flush post medication flush

For best practice, gloves should be worn to reduce the risk of infection, cross contamination, etc. especially with rings and acrylic nails. Pulse flush was not shown with the last 2 syringes nor was any clarification given as to why the "patient" administered the 2nd saline flush and heparin, using improper technique.

I'm also with the person below who commented about the lack of gloves, but big floppy sleeves seem a worse problem to me. Even the video shows her getting her long floppy sleeves on the mat.

This is NOT sterile technique. Why? There are multiple errors in this video: First, if you are going to create a sterile field, DON’T wear any garment that could potentially swing into the field and contaminate it. Her frilly sleeves are a risk. Her wrist watch is a huge area of risk. Second, long hair should be pulled back and secured. Third, on opening the Huber style 90 deg needle packaging onto the sterile field the outer dirty packaging touches the field. RIGHT HERE THE STERILITY IS BROKEN. RESTART THE ENTIRE SET UP. Anyway, I am both a patient and an advanced practice nurse working in the OR. Pleases show correct methods for the entire process or what’s the point?

Is it necessary to inject heparin after expiration for example Sol. NaCl 0.9% 500ml, knowing that the patient has the same solution tomorrow. Or is heparin only injected when the needle is removed?

Ummm : bare below the elbows. For alcohol based hand rub - let air dry: the disinfection is in the drying . Then gloves .

Warning: inaccurate video. You should hold the drug bottle beneath the saline bag to mix the two (NOT above it as shown). Otherwise the liquid doesn't rise but the powder enters the saline poorly mixed

The actors are not looking at what they are doing! Folks watching are watching what the actors do! The actors need to clearly focus their attention on what they are doing. Same with other scenes. Close the loop. Don't just show the empty syringe and say "throw it away", show it being put in a garbage can. Also, fire the person that wrote the script. It's poor in so many ways.. there's a lot that isn't covered. But, we get the ideas, so thanks for posting an easy video.
