Does the train bridge have a horn, signal, siren or an alarm that signals the opening and closing of the railroad bridge

Great going amtrak,so great to see that many are now really realizing how important our passenger rail service is.

Years ago my granddad used to work the tower there at Coleman Place. The tower is seen in this video to the left of the track with windows boarded up. I remember as a little boy on occasion my mother and I would come down to the tower and visit him. He lined electric switches and operated a telegraph key. He retired in about 1961 if I recall right. Many years later I ended up as a control station operator on Bridge 5 across town from Coleman Place and one of the interlockings I controlled was Coleman Place----my grandad´s old assignment. He worked for the old, the original NS which I did too just before the current NS. Good old days.

Those gravel cars on the back of the C & A train used to roll down the Norfolk/Va Beach line in the late '90s, early 2000's before NS abandoned it. God almost 20 years since ive seen those cars, still remember them clear as day. Glad to see they still have life and are still in Hampton Roads.

Love NS power moves up there. I never see them.

Petersburg is a great place to railfan. I don't know the road's name but there is a spot alongside Collier Yard, overlooking the NS mainline. You should try that spot. It's incredible!

Nice catch. I caught one similar to that next to 460 heading to Hoepwell, and boy it was flying.

Great catch of the Bay Coast delivering cars from Little Creek to the NS interchange. Bay Coast is now defunct and the car float operation across Chesapeake Bay is discontinued.

Looking at the date, I'd say the Buckingham Branch (BB 8) loco was being delivered to its new "Norfolk Division" to take over for the now defunct Bay Coast RR interchange at Coleman Place.

Is the K5LA runby or 1980 K5LA or 1992 K5LA

I honestly did not realize the trains stopped in Norfolk... every time I road the train from Alexandria, we always stopped in Newport News, then bused to Norfolk... I'm guessing this train must go Southbound instead to somewhere else...? Still, really cool video!
