This is a tough tune! I remember Paul Bollenback from his Joey DeFrancesco days. Killin'.
Stan what a mensch! Boxer, drummer and photografer.
Any idea who the pianist is?
Yeah, mate! Sorry about that. David Budway sits on the keys. You liked the stuff?

Awesome track.
Damn, this is burnin’. Stan Levey does my Philly soul good. He sure knew how to play with the group and behind the soloist. What a drummer!

too fruity
As a kid in High School (Venice High) back in the mid-1950s, I spent many a night with my brother and friends at the Lighthouse jazz club in Hermosa beach listening to Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse Allstars. I was fascinated with Stan Levey's drumming. Sometimes I would sit right next to the stage, looking up at Stan, no more than five feet away from me. In my opinion, Stan Levey was the greatest jazz drummer of all time. Even better than the great Shelly Manne. There were a lot of good drummers from that era, but none could top Stan for the musicality of his drumming.
Great stuff. As usual the rhythm section is immaculate. So much knowledge goes into making it seem that easy.
This is beautiful, some of my favorite people, fav players

Great cool tune. I remember hearing this tune back in the winter of the 1970's. I heard this tune back than on WRVR FM. The great DJ, Van Jay was hosting the show on that late snowy 2 degree night in NYC. The music went with the weather cool...
Glad this brought you back those memories, Mike.
Yes miss those days.
