New Year's Eve was never the same without Andy. My parents used to let me stay up to the Variety performance if he was on in case he sang Donald, Where's Yer Trousers! I was 4 when this was filmed - I never knew he did impersonations. Thank you.

Thank you so much for posting. Nadia was a dear friend of mine. She passed away on 29th October 2024 just five days shy of her 100th birthday. Just listening to her beautiful voice here brought tears to my eyes...but her rendition of Port Mahon is so so moving. Thank goodness this has survived & bless you (as Nadia would say) for making it possible for us to listen to it.

I had the honour of pipeing Andy Stewart across the tarmac and into the Wellington Airport terminal. He was my hero, and I will never forget that. I used to sing his songs on the bus when the City of Wellington Highland Pipe Band travelled to completions around New Zealand. God bless you, Andy.❤

Exactly', it's been hellish on TV for a number of years now. High tie we all wrote a letter to the BBC tonoutbon this type of traditional hogmanay music. (Scottish Ceilidh) This day and age accordionist, Brandon McPhee is a copy of Jimmy Shand in playing his music.

I used to watch this programne without fail. I looked forward to hogmanay every year. I'd dance to the music along with the white Heather dancers on TV. Happy memories, but what has happened? Nowadays its hellish and has been for several years. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

An hour of pure pleasure for those who admire Ian Powrie, as a real gent, and a lovely player. I,m an accordionist aged 73, and have his LPs of his iconic band. Sadly all gone, but a great legacy, and these videos are priceless. Thank you so much. Frank in Bristol.
