What type of relaxer is that?

You don't comb out the relaxer so does that mean its mot necessary to do that? Just curious. I do mine myself too

I never big chopped when I went natural about 7 years ago. I was stretching for 4-6 months at a time and I preferred my hair the longer I waited. I hated the flatness of my freshly relaxed hair. So I figured I would stop all together. Eventually I trimmed the relaxed ends off over time.

When I washed my straight hair headband wig,brown-black water came out 😂 literally like when you wash off fresh hair dye from your head 😂 i was like : wtfff haha. Oh,and when it was finally dry, it looked horrible,like it had been bleached 3 times in the same day . Looked dry,many broken hairs and flyaways all around, it basically looked fried even though i used good hair products to wash,have never applied heat to it or haven't dyed it or anything. No harsh brushing or pulling on it I carefully washed it straight out the package when I received it. What am I doing wrong then ? This is the 2nd or 3rd time my human wigs turn this way , horrible burn-like looking . Or am I just buying too cheap quality hair ? Or why does this happen? 😭help pleaseee 😭😭🥹💔 what can I do or how can I avoid my wigs turning like that when washing for the first time and every time I want to wash it

That’s a really good and particular reason to transition. I’m so glad to hear that because I’m thinking of relaxing after over 10 yrs natural.

Try not to big chop. The relaxed ends can help with detangling :)

Exactly. Cover the scalp, cover the actual already permed hair (with vaseline or whatever barrier works and wont interact chemically obviously lol) and BAM. Ide be surpirsed if she were NOT haitian. cus honestly the only women ive seen with super healthy perms that are also long..in large groups where u can see its a cultural practice to maintain a healthy perm are haitian women. But. MAybe thats cus im in miami 😂.... OOP.. am i right.. i replayed and i think that's haitian art behind her 😂. Haha. Can always tell a haitians healthy perm.

I live in the UK and I have struggled more with irritation to my scalp also as I have aged. I have started using a natural shampoo bar made from Rice Water which is what the Japanese use - the company is called Kitsch. It has been amazing for my hair.

All these comments about not using a relaxer or you shouldn’t use a relaxer it’s her head some people just can’t do natural what works for you may not work for someone else iam relaxed and will continue to relax my hair I’ve never had any health issues or got cancer from a relaxer 🤷🏽‍♀️

I use 5 types of shampoo - I use neutralizing shampoo on some wash days as sulphate shampoo, … my wash day is not complicated

if I ever wash my 2 texture hair like that fully matted, made that mistake b4 never again
