Honestly, bacon isnt even that great. The grease, used to cook other stuff, is the best part. Sausage is better.

Just wait until he tries proper bacon. American "bacon" is the awful, fatty bit taken from the belly. It used to be the scraps that they couldn't sell so they just fed it to animals or threw it away. Nobody wanted it until they started calling it "bacon" and had a very successful advertising campaign. Meanwhile, in other parts of the world like the UK, we eat real bacon (AKA: back bacon). It's a much better cut of meat, taken from the middle part of the back. While American "bacon" is mostly fat with little, scraggly strips of meat in it, back bacon is a big medallion of lean meat, framed by a thin layer of fat around the edges.
