Просмотров 16 тыс.3 года назад
The building of boat storage and boat plug install. All welding is done, paint is next.
Homemade Jon Boat Build Part 3
Просмотров 17 тыс.3 года назад
At first I was considering weight and went with .090" bottom and .062" sides but with some warpage form welding I realize that everything should have been minimal .090". Using the MIG aluminum gun proved hard to weld the thinner sides so TIG was used. Front deck cross members were installed and boat plug was machined and welded in.
Homemade Jon Boat Build Part 2
Просмотров 28 тыс.3 года назад
Part 2 is the installing top rails, transom trim and cutting and tacking in the ribs, this was a time consuming part considering the curve of the boat.
Homemade Jon Boat Build Part 1
Просмотров 67 тыс.3 года назад
This is the start of a homemade 1448 Jon boat. Sides are 20" with the front raised for a casting deck. The aluminum grade is 5052 with the bottom at .090" thickness and sides are .062".
Weld Build up on a Snowmobile Skid
Просмотров 6373 года назад
This track on the snowmobile wore through the plastic sliders and then the aluminum rail underneath that. This had to be built up with weld and then ground flush to reshape the T bar shape of the rails. With that the old holes where the suspension use to be needed to be welded up so the owner could put the shock back where it use to be. The whole job took three hours and a lot of welding rod bu...
DIY ATV Log Hauler
Просмотров 23 тыс.3 года назад
This is a log hauler made for an ATV. This is a simple log hauler that keeps the logs off the ground and out of the mud. 1200lbs hand winch is used and has no problem picking up heavy logs. This trailer is designed to handle log lengths 8 feet to 16 feet. The ATV is a Kawasaki 300 and has no problem pulling this trailer. At first when I made this, the rear width was too wide for the narrow trai...
DIY Welding Cart Work Bench
Просмотров 2123 года назад
In desperate need for a welding cart like I was? Here's a simple welding cart I built and designed. It doubles as a welding cart and work bench. With my extreme tight quarters I didn't want to waste on space. This cart, only 26" wide and 36" long, provides a welding cart (for two welders and two bottles), welding table, drawer for storage, and a tool wall.
DIY Surface Drive Mud Motor
Просмотров 36 тыс.3 года назад
This is a surface drive mud motor made from a 13hp (ish) Princess Auto engine. I've never had it in actually mud but I assume it would cause the belts to slip if it was thick mud. I mainly made this build for shallow water, dead heads, rocks, and weeds where the bass like to hide. These motor designs are so maintenance free and tough which why I choose to build one.
Pontoon Camper Boat

Floating camper, this is by the far the most ambition/ sketchy project I've done. But by far the coolest and most fun. Wish I had more more videos of it.
Goedome Greenhouse in Canada
Просмотров 2133 года назад
Here's a quick build on the Geodome Greenhouse I made a couple years ago. Installing plastic consisted of cutting the plastic, overlapping it and screwing it down with small strapping. (sorry did not show this in the video) It so far has lasted and on its third winter. I live in Canada zone 5A and could easily grow both hot an sweet peppers. Plants usually don't die off until first of November,...
13 Hp Mini Air Boat Build
Просмотров 11 тыс.3 года назад
A quick build of a 13hp air boat motor assembly. I built this for my favorite fishing spot which has many dead heads, rocks, shallow areas and weeds. I regretfully have never done a speed check on it but despite the slow speed, there's a peace at mind while boating and is still enjoyable. Engine- 420cc Pro Point Prop- 36" 3 blade with 13 degree pitch blocks, from competition aircraft Boat paint...
Real nice build! How much was the total for the metal and solder?
@@quantumenergysolutions9128 thanks! this was back in 2020 so prices my vary now, but the aluminum , and welding wire / gas was around 1800-2100$ cnd
4:51 what are you using to make these rails out of? It’s going up there easier than tube or pipe but I don’t see a groove for the sheet aluminum to sit in
What state are you in if you don’t mind me asking
@@OITM25 Up in Canada, New Brunswick (wishing I was in the states)
@@dooryardfabrication3973 how much aluminum would it take to make a 1436
Nice work! Fun progression. Stoked to build my own. Thx for the share!
What size was your aluminum sheets?
How much height is needed in the front of the hull can any specific measurement is there
Good
What size sheet for the boat?? Looks great. Nice work!
There's nothing like using the most annoying music ever for your video.
Hi, How heavy did this boat come out at? do you have any plans?
How have it lasted ?
How much did this cost to build
With all the interior done seats, carpet ect… I estimate 2200-2500$ Canadian
why would you use wood and not just aluminum sheeting ?
No main reason, the weight difference wasn’t huge and I had the plywood and didn’t want to spend money on another couple sheets of aluminum. Maybe it was dumb but I store the boat inside so it should rot. Thanks for the question
Great job
I live your build. What di it weigh at the end of the hull/structure phase. Trying to build a light welded 14' jon under 260 pounds. Not sure if it can be done. Thanks Mark
Thanks! I’m not sure what it weighed but I think around 300lbs, I made it purposely light with 16 gauge sides and a 3/32” bottom. Now my only problem focusing on weight is when welding the 16 gauge sides warped and it doesn’t look as good but I’m over it now haha. Thanks for the question!
Well done. Next time lets hear the boat, not that awful noise you call music.
Que top, deu trabalho más o resultado foi acima do esperado agora é testar na agua
Pro Rio Amazonas teria que engrossar a chapa
Beleza está tomando forma
Obrigado por postar passo á passo, deu incentivo para fabricar minha
Is this a how to or a music video?
Great job would like to build one for a 14foot jon boat can you give dimensions so we could build one you did a great job very clean would
How long is the bottom shaft??
first i need a diy garage...
It’s a cute idea, and actually very doable with a few improvements. First, I would’ve sprung for longer toons (28-30 ft) so I could have space out in front of the camper to put down a floor, mount a helm, and maybe some seats with a fencing. AND then you could mount a really nice outboard engine on the back. I would also build a hinged side deck that swings up and locks, but that can dropped down to provide a walk way from the front helm area to at least the side door. Two thumbs up for the idea! It has room for improvement, but all great ideas do!
What is the thickness of aluminum plate?
Great project. I'm building a small hovercraft and using the same motor. I built a 1:1 drive belt to keep engine low. Are you getting full RPM s with the 3 blade prop?
I’m not sure if I did or not, I never had a tach on it .
Stupid fucking video and stupid fucking music
Awesome build. I searched this title because I wanted to do this myself but after watching I don’t think I would finish in my lifetime! Have you ever calculated the cost including your time? I know the satisfaction you feel is greater than if you just bought a jon boat and you got just how you want it. Once again great job.
Thanks ! It was al lot of work and since I did it myself it was cheaper than buying an all welded boat. And yes the satisfaction of doing it yourself is worth it too.
That boat looks awesome bud, you did a great job!
Man a talk through would have been great. I am outfitting mine now. 24’ toon with 4 toons and would love more insite.
Awesome video, Nice job on your boat, what part of the country are you filming in, what river? Nice scenery!
Hi thanks! This is New Brunswick Canada, most of the video is magaguadavic river.
How much sheets of aluminum made this boat? Also can you advise the size (L x W) of the boat
Is there any chance you could help me figure out how to measure the front? I need to figure out how to figure out the dead rise so I can make the semi v hull you have on this boat and I have no idea how to do it. I am trying to build it out of cardboard right now so I can get the measurements exact, before I spend money on materials.
I didn’t use card board or any templates, it’s fairly easy to build as you go. Just start with the bottom. I have tacked 2 4x8 sheet to make 4x16 bottom to start. The at the front I cut down 5-6 feet ( I can’t remember exactly how much) after cutting, pick up the front and fold one over the other until you find you rise and v. Hold it in the position but hanging string to the ceiling and vise grip/ clamps. Next you take a laser level straight down the middle like in the video and trace the curve at the front . This line is on only on one of the halves . This need to be cut out and transferred over to the other side. I hope with this info and the video will help you
how much does something like this cost material wise
In Canada here, and 2 years ago, the material was about 1600-1700$
where did you find those hubs and wheels
Good job
Great build! Where did you purchase the 3/4” hardened shaft?
Also what belt and pulley did you use for this build?
@@gavincosper5637 I got some chrome induction hardened shaft from a local cylinder repair shop. As for belts and pulleys I bought all that at princess auto , I kept it 1:1 and went with double sheaved pulleys with 2 Vbelts
It turned out to be a great boat. Do you have the blueprints for this boat?
Thanks! No blueprints sorry, I just built it as I went
I'm really sorry that you don't have the blueprints. I think that many people would be very interested in the project of this boat. And many would like to repeat it.
That is an awesome river you have there I wish I had something like that to play on!
It’s probably the nicest river around here, I love it
I'd love to see a part 2 of using it with your friends.
Nice
Brilliant. I have been wanting to make something similar but this is a much better design.
How thick is the metal
was the outboard motor home made as well? All looks amazing!
Yes it was, everything homemade. I have just made a new mud motor from a 670 predator . Just haven’t got the videos made yet .
Lookin good. I’m gearing up to build a two man airboat. I’m going to be using a 20hp/22hp pred motor...I think. Yours is the first I’ve seen with a Vee bottom boat. How was the control factor? Any issues. Did it draft more that say a traditional airboat platform or flat bottom Jon? Nice video!!
I only had a 15 hp on it, still I don’t believe and bigger engine would be much different. I had no problem with it, it turned no problem it was just a little slow. Let me know how the 22hp works out. I’d love to build a bigger airboat
Is that grand lake NB?
What size tube did you use and wall thickness?
2x2x1/8” and it is plenty strong, the long main frame does have some flex but you could strengthen it by stitching on flat bar on its edge as a spine.
I have almost the same as this boat
Nice! Big casting deck on it?
@@dooryardfabrication3973 Near! Mine is 80 cm long deck
@@MaskatuPescaruAmator777 nice mine is 6 feet long so about 180cm. I can lay down on it lol.
