It's an offline game with hours worth of content. It's difficulty depends on how you upgrade your characters. Most will of course max their favorites. It's a VERY fun game. It has hundreds of levels and shittons of characters to use.

X7's story was a fucking waste dude like imagine after the events of X6 the world is thrown into chaos, with Irregulars running about causing trouble and with the state the world was left in faith in the hunters would be at an all time low which would lead to independent hunter and vigilante groups which are ofter made up of normal people taking matters into their own hands this would give Soul Asylum actual weight, things getting so bad that X himself leaves the hunters and becomes one of these vigilantes choosing to work outside the law all for the pursue of Irregulars, maybe this is how he would meet Axl striking up a friendship similar to how X and ZERO were when they were teenagers, maybe even show how X leaving crippled hunter morale, maybe show how ZERO and Alia feel, maybe show X getting more aggressive when it comes to Irregulars so it would tie with ZERO's ending i don't know.

I have my own headcannon timeline for the Mega Man X timeline that incorporates all of the X games into a single timeline, and also corrects some problems with the story (mainly X4, where either X or Zero's version of the story happens, to the detriment of the other). I actually have a large doc in an external HDD with the whole timeline that I wrote over 10 years ago, to make better sense of the story.

Personally, I can get behind Command Mission being the main canon timeline. X is the hero, Zero is a side character, Axl exists, everyone is alive and... _relatively_ happy, there's hope for the future...

I'm not going to comment on the games with Axl because that's a whole other can of worms I don't feel like opening right now, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for pointing out the problems with Inafune's ambition and also actually criticizing the Zero series' plot. I have basically seen nothing but blind worship for the writing in those games, and after seeing the story myself... I just don't get it. The writing is either stale and boring or a complete disjointed mess. (Sometimes both!) I do appreciate the irony with X, though. They originally wanted to make him the villain... and the new plans made him even more of a hero.

Initially, I hated X6's plot for feeling like it didn't contribute anything to the narrative. It's grown on me over time, though, especially as I realize just how much that game did for X's character. He really is the best version of himself in that game, and I loved seeing him properly develop out of Zero's shadow (even if the explanation for Zero coming back could have used some work). I still hate what X7 did to X. Even if I think that game's plot had more potential than people are willing to give it credit for, there's no excuse for X's blatant derailment, and I'm glad they went back on it for X8 (he feels a lot more like his X6 self in that game).

Ngl, a Mega Man game that pulls a Fire Emblem Awakening would be very interesting to say the least. I say this as someone who played Fire Emblem Three Houses, a game that singlehandedly became the highest selling game of the franchise. While I'll admit that the whole waifu-ing of the game was a significant factor for why many (myself included) bought and enjoyed it, the character interactions and the story was the main reason why a lot of people are still talking about the game even after almost 5 years later. The gameplay might be good (or not), but a great story can do wonders for a game's reception and legacy. At this point, any Mega Man game that takes its story seriously and actually utilizes its characters well would easily become the highest selling game of the franchise. Of course, this all depends on Capcom's decisions as a company, so it's still very unlikely that it would happen.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that X deserved more than what he got in terms of story. I may still like Zero in a way, but I feel like a character like X is much more unique due to how introspective his struggles are. He's not a typical action hero that shoots the bad guys and smiles at the camera like it's another Tuesday, instead he's really just a good guy at heart that is always there to do the right thing even if it pains him to do so like a true hero.

I don't know what the x-series even is anymore. It's a Canon, the original series or is his own separate continuity or is it both? This series doesn't make sense

Thanks for making this video comparison. I love the remake but i love the original dialogue in the classic X series when x tells zero i guess im not strong enough to beat him. And zero says he’s a war machine you shouldn’t expect beat them but once you get all your abilities, you’re designed with you will become stronger perhaps even stronger then me

Also Megaman Legends A.K.A Rockman DASH is not connected to Zero/ZX timeline. i mean did you megaman fans look at the master's ear,his ear looks like normal human ear and not an earpiece shaped ear.

Megaman Zero(Rockman Zero) is the result of the bad ending in X5/X6. the eastern version comes first then the western version.but maybe because of bad translation we always got misunderstanding to different theories. I am really sure that the X series didn't connected to the Zero series.

People are also making good mods on Nexus, releasing characters and weapons, cut content and so on! They restored the raid mode and coop for the most part (and no not like connectivity, just the stages)

I kind of really liked the story of the antagonists in x6. It really showed the true colors of the government that was sketchy and sometimes downright corrupt. Sure many of the nightmare investigators were not good guys from the start but instead of dealing with them by the book and holding trials for them they outright used shady methods for getting rid of them. Heck some of them were not even bad guys and were actually good. But they were outright assassinated simply because they were feared by the government.

I haven't checked out x1 and x2 but they already used lyrical theme songs from x3. It was actually my favorite after x4.

I always like character archetypes like x, ky kiske, captain america, flyn schifo, compared to either their edgy or fiery counterpart rivals. X in particular changed my outlook in story preferences. I used to love arnold, van dam, jackie chan and bruce lee movies as a kid but growing up I realize now that one hero spotlight glory hog stories are pretty boring. With this video, that gives me a new perspective. I always viewed the MMZ timeline to be canon, but now I view this as just one timeline. Classic and X remain unchanged, and X6's Zero ending is in the future. Command mission happens in 22XX, but Zero is temporarily reawakened for this. After that's done, Zero is resealed. Then in early 23XX MMZ happens. Given the fact that Alouette is heavily implied to be Prairie from ZX and (I believe) it's stated that Prairie is 200 years old despite looking 14 like Vent/Aile are, that would make sense as ZX and ZXA takes place in 25XX.

Hmm, I'll definitely wait for a sale but man I'm really impressed with what the modders have managed to do for the game so far. Lots of new characters, some restored content, etc. I'm excited to see what else they can do in the future. If we ever get to the point where stages are added in lol, that would be nuts. And yea I'm definitely an X fan, I appreciate the more mature approach to graphics & story & the gameplay of X to the original series. Although legends will always be my favorite mm series.

I'm way late to the convo considering the kost recent comment is 9 months old. But why is this community so set on ALL the games fitting into a single timeline ? Megaman X6 Zero puts himself into stasis for study eventually resulting in the elf wars and Megaman Zero. Megaman Zero released in 2002, Megaman X7 released in 2003, everything after X6 is irrelevant to and non cannon in the Megaman Zero timeline.
