[Intro] And now, the wonderous world of.. Hey, come to Los Angeles! Where you and your family can have peace and tranquility Enjoy the refinement.. Hey Bone, hey nigga where you at though? Hello, my name is Elaine And I'll be your tour guide through South Central Los Angeles [Verse 1: Ice Cube] How to survive in South Central (what you do?) A place where bustin a cap is fundamental No, you can't find the shit in a handbook Take a close look, at a rap crook Rule number one: get yourself a gun A nine in your ass'll be fine Keep it in your glove compartment Cause jackers (yo) they love to start shit Now if you're white you can trust the police But if you're black they ain't nothin but beasts Watch out for the kill Don't make a false move and keep your hands on the steering wheel And don't get smart Answer all questions, and that's your first lesson On stayin alive In South Central, yeah, that's how you survive [Break] Hi, this is Elaine again Are you enjoying your stay in South Central Los Angeles? Or has somebody taken your things? Have you witnessed a driveby? Okay, make sure you have your camcorder ready To witness the extracurricular activities on blacks by the police So you and your family can enjoy this tape, over and over again This is Los Angeles, this is Los Angeles [Verse 2: Ice Cube] Rule number two: don't trust nobody Especially a bitch, with a hooker's body Cause it ain't nuttin but a trap And females'll get you jacked and kidnapped You'll wind up dead Just to be safe don't wear no blue or red Cause most niggas get got In either L.A., Compton or Watts Pissed off black human beings So I think you better skip the sight-seeing And if you're nuttin but a mark Make sure that you're in before dark But if you need some affection, mate Make sure the bitch ain't a Section 8 Cause if so that's a monkey-wrench ho And you won't survive in South Central [Break] Now you realize it's not all that it's cracked up to be You realize that it's fucked up! It ain't nothin like the shit you saw on TV Palm trees and blonde bitches? I'd advise to you to pack your shit and get the fuck on, punk motherfucker! And you'll get your ass straight smoked Yo I wanna say whassup to DJ Chilly Chill, Sir Jinx Aiy'yo Cube these motherfuckers don't know what time it is So show these motherfuckers what's happenin' Tell these motherfuckers, don't fuck around in South Central God dammit! [Verse 3: Ice Cube] Rule number three: don't get caught up Cause niggas are doing anything that's thought up And they got a price On everything from dope, to stolen merchandise Weed to sherm Cause South Central L.A., is one big germ Waitin for a brother like you to catch a disease And start slangin ki's To an undercover or the wrong brother And they'll smother, a out of town motherfucker So don't take your life for granted Cause it's the craziest place on the planet In L.A., heroes don't fly through the sky of stars They live behind bars So everybody's doin' a little dirt And it's the youngsters puttin' in the most work So be alert and stay calm As you enter, the concrete Vietnam You say, the strong survive Shit, the strong even die, in South Central [Outro] Yeah you bitches, you think I forgot about your ass you tramp-ass hoes? You better watch out And for you so called baller-ass niggas, you know what time it is South Central ain't no joke Got to keep your gat at all times motherfuckers Better keep one in the chamber and nine in the clip god dammit You'll sho' get got, just like that This ain't no joke motherfuckers Now I wanna send a shout-out to E-Dog, the engineer Puttin' his two cents in This is Los Angeles
If you're white you can trust the police And if you're black that ain't nothin but a beast. That is still true today and this is 2023
".....and it's the youngsters puttin in the most work.' Truest statement in this whole song IYKYK
В принципе в нашей школе было все намного хуже.

Didn’t feel like keeping it. Also there is just a fan made music video for "Boyz n the Hood" that’s why he added the random clips.

I really wish this was my profile picture doing the vocals.
I was there. The cops unplugged them towards the end of their set. Not long before that the crowd was throwing basically the contents of a small grocery store at them, a rain of tomatoes and fruit and even packaged items. I saw a full beer can hit the stage and explode. But the funniest thing thrown was a tube of toothpaste. One of Robo's cymbals got drilled by a whole tomato, but it didn't phase him at all. It's hard to imagine a more perfect punk gig.
The early stuff is the best. Listen to it all on "everything went black" !I!I their best album! Creepy Crawl
We need 2020 version for rapper
Add Some Beantown Flava To It
The hero's ain't the sky and stars they live behind bars #facts
How to survive south Central
Damn man this was dope, late as hell watching it tho, came out almost 10yrs ago. time is too fucking fast
Everybody behave yourselves!! This isn't rocknroll anymoree
11:57 - 12:48 you hear Ron Reyes yelling lmao
Sad. People still get killed everyday in South Central in gang related crimes. Not much has changed in this regard. From a German viewpoint its incomprehensible how these streets can be so violent.
Heard it got better bro .apparently since "gangbanging" not the move no more in 2019-2020. just rappers, but the killing fo sho will NEVER EVER stop.
True the killing won’t stop
3 words crack cocaine, heroin sadly
@@gitbackmymushh06 Drugs are everywhere. Even guns are everywhere. Switzerland has the same quota of gun ownership as the US but neglectible gun violence. So tell me it's not about the culture.
@@marcelluswallace4076 alot of the gang gun crime in LA Is to do with drugs before the late 70s when crack and heroin came to the US gangs were fighting over little things like disrespect

Never knew there was a tape for this. Pretty amazing
this should have been in Friday. 😂
naaaa... i think boyz n the hood is the better decision for this song.
I think it was the end credits music for boys in the hood
Chillpanse yep I agree
Todd Adams yes it was
Nah this song was better for Boyz n the Hood because it represents Doughboy’s life and how he didn’t survive in da hood.
Man, talk about history in the making. Few of the audience there would have heard this and one could imagine the sheer sonic blast of power and energy just blew the heads off those hippies and Disco freaks. I don't have to mention what the parents and kiddies thought :-). It sure was divine providence that captured this landmark moment for posterity and it sure is great to be a witness to a shift that led to something new and great.
<Excellent!
yep
I'm thinking Henry was still managing the ice cream store at this time
World Rockumentary Channel™ hahahahaha
I really wish he was managing a Bruster’s near me.
He saw the clash with bo diddley and the bad brains this year
I was hoping it might be a better quality recording than what I had but, no. In punk rock it was never that important about recording quality but, well, I focused on trading for a buncha live and demo stuff so I could increase the odds of getting better recordings. This is so early for them and, yea, I don't know of other recordings from this period. I'm just glad we do have what we do have and You Tube helps us share it easier.
is this the infamous gig where they fooled the park/audience into thinking they covered fleetwood mac?
that's what Keith claims in American Hardcore
It's crazy when you think that all these songs are classics now and here people are hearing them for the 1st time
Cube should have made a video for this. But I guess he had a movie so....
Sea Pea lmao the movie should be called how to survive in south central
Eazy Eric- The movie was Boyz in the Hood.
Sea Pea lol makes no sense.
