It was a surprisingly short lesson, whereafter she got her paper flower walked on. In most of the other school scenes, i have seen in movies, they try to make the lessons look a bit longer.... though they do show it all.
at my school, a student wouldn't dare treat a teacher like that to their face. only behind their backs

I hear you. Hopefully people can see It was more about him being comfortable in his own skin in a way that his teacher was not. Part of it is Contextual as our culture has grown more and more accustomed to 🏳️🌈 rights and freedoms. Although he is very deep, so mature 🤓
I'd love to see gifted write a piece called paper rose... that's a lot of emotions jam packed in two words.

Give damn good lessons to 14 year student that is teaching.
Where is the principal in all this? Bullying is against the law, especially "Homophobic" bullying, that child should be thrown out of school! turn the other cheek has never worked, not even for Jesus. I get frustrated when I watch these stories when all they have to do is report the scumbag to the school and if that doesn't work threaten the school with taking it to the police, that'll get them moving, believe me, I've been there with my son and the protagonist is now one of his best friends.
I agree. To be honest, this incident is based on my time at school. these things were happening and far worse, which I felt shouldn't be in the film. Unfortunately there was a lot of gay hate in my community especially from year 7-year 10ish. We have come a long way and I hoped to show some of that in the film through the teenage boy who is comfortable in his skin despite comments or suspicions that in this case aren't even true.
