Model Railway in Action
Великобритания
Добавлен 31 окт 2022
Action from model railway exhibitions and our home layout, where you have the best view to watch the trains go by.
Also available on the channel will be some trips to heritage railways and other related interesting topics.
For our own layout we’ve not modelled any specific location and have not reflected any particular historic era, it’s just a selection of trains and other items acquired over many years. The layout is OO gauge with most trains from the major suppliers Hornby and Bachmann and mostly from the UK. We are currently adding a separate set of tracks and a new TMD all controlled via DCC which will keep us busy for years! The main lines are DC controlled.
Why not subscribe (it's free and helps the channel to grow) as we'll be posting further videos from our layout and from visits to model railway shows so hit that notification bell to be the first to hear about them!
We typically publish a new video every Monday afternoon with an extra video on Fridays at busy times!

Hi, excellent video mate, just to let you know, you showed Inches layout in part 1 as well 😊
Yes, Inches was a long one so I split it over two videos. Glad you enjoyed it!
Its a great good detailled scenery!
I agree, some great scenes. Thanks Susanne!
Great video!
Thanks Jim, really glad you enjoyed it!
@@modelrailwayinaction Looking forward to pt2
nice review! Best regards from Germany
Happy you enjoyed the video! Greetings from Scotland!
Is there a track plan - layout available for this yard?
I would recommend contacting the club directly via their website or Facebook page to see if one is available. The club names are in the captions for each layout and google should hopefully find the right contact details.
Trains more realistic than the “night sleeper “ series
Always dramatic licence in TV shows! Glad you enjoyed the layouts.
Looks like great show !
Awesome layouts
Really glad you enjoyed the layouts Ian!
Excellent viewing a joy to watch
Thanks so much Paul, really glad you enjoyed the video!
Cheers mate, much appreciated. Are the n gauge models from Kato? Umesh
Glad you enjoyed the video. I think some of the models will be Kato ones, but for an exact answer you could maybe send a message to the Renfrewshire MRC (for Stoddards Lock) or East Neuk MRC (for Law Junction). You should be able to find their Facebook or website via Google. Hope that helps.
Great video, thank you for posting 🎉
Thanks, really glad you enjoyed it.
Nice layout. I hope they get it sorted after the fire
You and me both!
Fabulous buildings in that Stoddart Lock layout
Yes, it does have some great buildings, also the canal with the lock is lovely as well.
Thanks for sharing. Dunblane looks like a lovely spot to visit. Some beautiful models at the show! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Yes, it's a lovely little town, not one I'd visited before. A great addition to the model railway scene.
Looks like it was a great exhibition from part 1, right up my street! Interested to understand what phone/camera you use to film as all your videos appear very crisp and focussing is always spot on?
Yes, it was a great little show in a lovely location. I use a Sony FDR-AX53 which although not that modern is pretty suitable for filming the layouts. The focus is automatic and does struggle with N-guage as it's quite small!
@@modelrailwayinaction thanks for your reply, I did consider that model of camcorder for filming layout running sessions. I’m still using older iPhone (XR) so just weighing up the options. Thanks again and looking forward to parts 2 and 3. 👍
I especially like the Newton Ferrier layout best because I love the steam hauled long haul passenger train!
Yes, it's a lovely layout with the rural setting and also has lots of action with the trains entering the loops.
Great video, great layouts. Thanks for your patient filming and careful close-ups.
Thanks for enjoying the video. Some are hard to film but I try my best!
Another great installment, thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the term armchair exhibition, a video is still a good alternative. Thanks for sharing.
That was great. It's many years since I have been at that show. Now and again, when I go back to Scotland, I normally time it when the Model Rail Scotland show is on. Just switching to P4!! A stepp too far, I hope not. Just love watching Bexhill West.
Really glad you enjoyed the video. Good planning to visit when the big show is on, always some great layouts there,
Nice layout, well run, shame about all the bubbles on the back scene
Oh well, maybe they could focus on the background for the next time!
Yet another armchair exhibition, this time 442 miles from home, only 7 hours and 25 minutes by road from home in the New Forest! Like so many others, there’s no chance of seeing these layouts, so a really big thank you for this video, and keep them coming please.
Thanks Phil, really glad you're enjoying the videos from so far away! We certainly plan one or two videos a week for the rest of the year, weather permitting!
Charlotte enjoyed Thomas the train and his friends the best 😂
Yes, that's a fun one for everyone who loves Thomas!
Another excellent video covering the exhibition. Many thanks once again.
Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed the videos as I tried to get as much action as possible!
Many thanks for coming along to Border Rail 2024, especially with your video camera. This video will serve as a reminder to those of us who attended as well as an opportunity for those who were unable to do so. The video is well shot and edited and I have emailed the link to members. I look forward to part 2. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for enjoying the video. It's always great to visit somehere new and get great feedback!
Very cool is there a website of where the model exhibition
Yes, there is at www.eastneukmrc.co.uk/
Brilliant video!
Thanks so much! And that's just the short version. Hope your repairs are going well.
@@modelrailwayinaction I've watched your full videos after I seen this short, they're great! I put them in a playlist among others videos of the layout. Thanks for the well wishes - Alfie
Lockerbie was by far my favourite layout at the show , absolutely brilliant😀
Yes, have to agree, its a wonderful layout with lots of action, interesting features and accuracy to the location. I love that the trains slow down for a speed restriction when passing rail workers!
Good to see road ehicles running at asedate speed!!
Yes, even when they catch up the vehicle in front!
Beautiful scenes good detailled!
Yes, some nice ones in this video. Did you spot the bus running into the back of the lorry!
sum amazing layouts
Thanks Lauren, really glad you are enjoying them!
@@modelrailwayinaction you are more than welocme hun use to do it my self but not no more xxx
Mains of Rusty Back Chain absolutely love it and brilliant layout. 👍
Yes, it is a good one, with some great backscene and variety of trains.
Need to sack the virgin driver at 6.53 for that SPAD 😂
A shocker! I do like the TSR though as trains slow down when passing the railway workers.
Very good coverage of the layouts on display !!!
Thanks so much. Hope you enjoy the other two parts as well!
Beautiful!
Great Vidio
Really glad you enjoyed it!
I see Shieldinch 00 is still wrongly attributed to Helensburgh MRC, instead of to Larry Cheyne. I mentionit because...?
Hi Larry, that was the information I had at the time. It's listed on the Helensburgh club website as one of their layouts. Sorry if the info is not correct.
@@modelrailwayinactionNot to worry. Helensburgh''Shieldinch' is Ann gauge layout, setintheWhiteinch/Scotstoun area, where the Caledonian Railway built lines to accommodate the burgeoning shipbuilding industry at the turn of the 29th/20thcentury. Maybe next time? I'll be at Cathcart at the end of October.
@@laurencecheyne593 Thanks for the update.
PS Thanks for putting Shieldinch 00 as the cover 16:34 still on your video. It really shows it off to advantage. There are not many Scottish pre-grouping layouts on the exhibition circuit. @@modelrailwayinaction
@@laurencecheyne593 It looked good as a picture so I picked it for the thumbnail for that video. Always like interesting different railways to show.
Those steam engine should rebuilt and refitted with more modern sttam technology!..
Sehr schöne Szenerie!
Very happy you love the scenery!
Beta Dubh, what a cack layout. Two sets of signals one end all "off" at the same time, one set the wrong side of the points. And the other end 2 sets of signals facing the same way, what's all that about. As I've said in comments before if you are modelling a railway you must get it right.
Sorry you're frustrated by some of the accuracy, but not every layout at shows can be expected to be modelled to exact standards.
Not blaming you, I've seen some great model railways but let down by signals. The amount of time that is spent on these layouts must be a lot so a little time could be spent on getting the signalling right.
It’s actually BATA DUBH try not to be so “cack “ until you learn something about Scotland, it’s history and its language. 🙄
I am Scottish, it's the signalling that's cack, as I said all signals off at one end one of them the wrong side of the points and why are there 2 sets facing the same way the other end?
Great shunting with the whisky grain wagons, fantastic old American three rail O gauge layout!
Yes, they were great to watch! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Very ornate and lovely stations built in the past changed days now
Yes, you don't get new stations like these any more!
absolute waste of public and tax payers money for what a train to stop at leven then go back leven is not a nice town infact its just as a dump as any town in fife scotland you have kirkcaldy dump you have leven just as bad oh hawd oan lets go to leven fur the day ow wait theres feck aw here apart from a beatch and golf courses the toons a dump thats 100% true so why would you put a train station there its absolute pointless
Why should the people of the Leven area be denied access to the rail network in the same way as others around the country? It was the largest area of Scotland with no train service. The new line provides better access in and out to help improve the area and give easier access to employment in the cities. Such towns will just decline further without investment such as this.
Fantastic. I mind the station at Brechin from childhood days; summers spent with my Dad, delivering and picking up all sorts for the hotels and bakeries, Co-oPs and such. I can mind the willow-herb at Forfar playing havoc with my chest but I mind Brechin was a bonnie station. Even in the 70's, long after it closed to passengers, if I mind right, it still had the Red Star Parcels Office, like Blairgowrie and Forfar, but I'll stand corrected. Aye, all good places for a youngster to see but Brechin was the station that stands out in my mind the maist. Thank you for giving us a chance to see it again in working order and all the best to all who've worked to keep it there. Cheers!
Thanks for leaving such a great comment and sharing your memories of the line. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Garlieston is a beautiful layout. It's rare to see pre-grouping model railways, and I always find them interesting.
Yes, it's a lovely railway with some very interesting coaches and early locos.
Very nice,good scenery!
Thanks, glad to enjoyed the varied layouts.
Excelent model railway video
Hi Antonio, thanks so much for you great comment. Really glad you are enjoying the layouts.
