Minecraft Forge "Exit Code: 1" Error FIX (2023)
JDK 17

default path
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17\bin\javaw.exe
in short: you need to empty your .minecraft mods folder (to ensure no mods are causing the problem), then download JDK 17 if you don't already have it, then in your forge configuration on the minecraft launcher go to more options, then on the option "executable java" click browse and select javaw.exe (should be in "Program Files\Java\jdk-17\bin" by default) and click save then play and it should work again.

If none of these work, try backing up the .minecraft folder in %appdata% and then deleting it, after that install the version you want, delete all forge instances and then create them again! This worked for me

Use fabric instead of forge or neoforge and you wont get that error
It worked, but it didn't work, because my minecraft opened, but seconds later it closed and the exit code: 1 appeared :/
