A 5 minute drive from the Little River township will take you to the park just after the Little River Campground leading on to the Okuti Valley Scenic Reserve. Okuti Reserve is a magical little piece of native bush. Right beside The Little River Campground, it is a good 10 minute walk, or you can continue to the hilltop, which is a 7km walk, 5km up and 2 down to meet the main highway. Thanks Ben for the video.
Looks like people riding invisible e-scooters the way the hyperlapse syncs with leg movement.
Sunrise and sunset running give you the chance to reflect and reset. Great footage
That corridor of trees looks like something from a film. Great idea to fast forward your miles

Hi there! I found you on reddit, reading about your streak. Could you share what camera setup you use to film videos like this? Apologies if you explain on another video, I have yet to take a look at your catalog. I will be doing so after work this coming week, as I daydream of building mileage and running amazing places like this one!
No problems, I just have a GoPro Hero 12 Black that I bought specifically in mind of my first Ultra Marathon a couple months back. I've found the head mount works better for my running than the chest mount. Other than that I haven't really got anything fancy or specific. I do believe the GoPro models back as far as the hero 9 are all near enough the same if the latest model is a bit much, although the 12 does have better battery life which no doubt helps on longer runs (but it did drop the GPS feature to achieve that which the 11 had)
@nterburyTrailsandBeyondThank you for the insight! Your channel has me wondering about elements I could add into my running practice to make it more fun*. I like the idea of filming, at a minimum for posterity. I love reading notes about my runs in years past, so how special would it be to see some of them on film? I'm really glad I found you and now have running in New Zealand on my bucket list. *Immediately after reading this I realized it sounds like I don't have fun running. That couldn't be further from the truth. It's more the addition of fun to an already fun equation.

So good! The first edition of this race was my first ever ultra!
Mine too, I think I'm hooked now even though I'm really not built for ultras!
A couple of years ago I did a 50km run along the beach starting a Birdlings Flat, 25km out then 25km back. Just me and the birds, so amazing. Not easy running on the shingle though.
Amazing effort! It really is an otherworldly place out there. I find the land just as interesting as the beach also as it has quite a different feeling to any other nearby areas.
Hope to do it next year.
