16GB will work, and it would also depend on the sim you are playing. 100% try it first. You may encounter problems if you have many other programs open in sessions, especially streaming. I would try it before spending money. You can always pick up cheap used RAM if needed.

@sethkastl1651 it would be a trial and error attempt. You may get it working but would have to turn a lot of settings to min. You will struggle with CPU and GPU power however I would say you'll get enough to test drive on your own, it would be enough to see if you like VR. You may also want to look into openXR it will help run it smoother. Hope it helps

No I don't believe it will work, however I have heard a program called kneeboard will do what you are after. I haven't tried it myself

Some.reason only just seen this, yes rfactor2 things. I find the things I show will see you through most scenarios

Most modern laptops will work fine with this, however if you want VR you will need higher end of graphics card.

Thanks for watching, we have found a trick DLSS makes it loads better, I have it set to quality I don't get any stutters and it's slight blur, it helped increasing my supersampling to 1.5 through oculus tray tool. Keep your eyes peeled new video soon.

@@closetsimracer upscaler must be turned off otherwise you introduce all the smudging and blurring. On your rig I’d drop to 72hz. I’m on a 3080ti with i9 9900k oc to 4.2ghz and I run all my sim racing games at 72hz. I have zero sensitivity to motion sickness abd I honestly can’t tell the difference between 72 and 90. I promise if you turn off upscaler and drop to 72hz you will be a lot happier!

Unfortunately, I don't have the option to run 72hz, I use original oculus CV1. Tried upscaler off but it works so much better with DLSS on. Setting to quality helps with blur and its playable.

@@closetsimracer its definitely time to retire that CV1 buddy. I sold mine off just before Oculus reversed the terrible link your Facebook account to your oculus account rule nonsense. It was a great headset and was hard for me to sell her, but it was time to move on.

With the AA off, it kind of needs the DLSS, but it works much better if a tad blurry. I've noticed it seems to partly be looking through the windshield that screws up the colors, which is interesting - Also makes me feel like it shouldn't be the hardest fix ever. Don't get me wrong I will drive the hell out of this but visually there is plenty of room to improve. It is only a beta so I have hope, it drives great and that is what I'll keep coming back for

My comment about being fussy was not aimed at you, it was just a general statement in that I do other SIM racing games and Rally racing is not my expertise. I would not know how a Rally car is supposed to drive, and as long as I can get through the Stages without crashing the car, I am a happy camper. I love to drive the twisty winding Stages the game provides and the turn voice is a big help in doing them. I have my game set to HIGH graphics settings and FULLSCREEN with the resolution set to a high number, I forget the numbers. My graphics looks somewhat better than in the video. Take care.

Your not wrong however you can get them to an ecceptable level. Iracing is a perfect example it looks good in VR but not quite as good as a monitor

It's not at the level it should be, it's just about playable but far from perfect. I really hope it cam one day meet its promise land.

I cannot disagree with you, I love a bit of RF2 and always will just wish I could race more people more often.

@@closetsimracer i gave it a shot. its pretty damn good lol as of now i only own the tcr and 1 gt3. the ffb and road feel plus tire model is SO GOOD! but.... i cant rotate any car on brake for whatever reason. on throttle rotation is there. brake rotation and trail braking seems super odd. now i only have a few days with it so i cant be so quick to say anything but as of now it feels pretty damn good.

@doot6516 honestly it's just practice with it, depends what you drove before too. Move brake bias rearward and increase brake pressure may help. Most detach rear anti roll bar too seems to help.

the whole point of my video, there is a reality to VR, it's not for everyone. I found it tough to adjust when I tried it for the first time. Strangely flight sim solved my sickness issue no idea how or why. I also found one a good smooth frame rate can be got the sickness also went away. Hi thanks for watching. Since I made that video the 40 series GPUs ha e arrived. Your system could run VR but at the lower end, so you would have to reduce most of the settings to get a smooth experience. Your system will run 1080p screen single screen no problem , not about a 4060 running triples.

what would have to upgraded to get a smoother higher quality picture in VR? @@closetsimracer

To get a full detail VR experience you will essentially need a full PC upgrade. An i7 processor, and something like a 4070 ti super or 4080 if buying new now. A second hand 3080 or 3090 will also do the job. I also found 32gb RAM better for VR as I quickly ran out when running 16GB. However, dont be put off. Try your current system and maybe look into openXR to help run it. Make sure you like it before spending thousands.

ive also had a look at vr headsets and the pico 4 is cheap in my country is that a better option in the current second hand market?@@closetsimracer

Well we’re getting there. My boys got me a new pedal set for Christmas, still getting used to them. Obviously better than my Logitech pedals, but they’re different and muscle memory isn’t quite there yet. CSL not elites, but I bought the clutch kit. I never use the clutch since blowing my knee out, I needed somewhere familiar to put my foot when in in vr 😂. PC is still old as all heck 🤷🏻‍♂️🛸

Normally online it's better in most cases. When running single player + AI the CPU has to calculate the other cars but online that's not the case. Is your frame time lone session or with AI? Thanks for watching

​@@closetsimracerok it's more like 3.5ms GPU and 5.5ms CPU. But anyway, since switching to OpenXR using OpenComposite, the problem has gone away. Of course, online rookie races have just moved to a different track and different cars, so it could also be that...

I just noticed the end of the video with config tweaking and that made difference. Im using quest 2 with oculus link in iracing. I have been tweaking OTT, but it didnt do any difference. I also have 3080 and wanted little bit better quality. Thanks! @@closetsimracer

Yea I have it on 130 aswell. Just did one ghost race and fps was steady 90 in 30 driver grid. Looks sharper now. Do you use any overlays? I would like to have fuel calc, but everytime I get one it eats my fps like crazy. I get random stuttering and stuff like that. @@closetsimracer

@@closetsimracer fwiw, in case you've come across this: my next job is to sort out the world scale in VR. By default on a Reverb G2 with my IPD, rFactor2 looks wrong in a way other Sims don't. Closer than it should, somehow! I'm pretty sure I can tweak world scale/IPD in OpenXR somehow. Will see how I get on!

It's something I've never felt the need to play with. When I tried openxr I did see the adjustment was available. Good luck 👍

​@@closetsimracerfwiw I sorted the scale with OpenComposite and OpenXR Toolkit, and also found that adjusting the seat position really helped ("seat seat seat seat!") Now my main issue is FFB on the G27 feels weird sometimes (it sometimes pushes the wheel in the direction of the turn, which I don't understand). But nm, my Fanatec kit will arrive eventually. Anyway, video idea: an explanation of FFB settings and also describe what should be felt in different scenarios. Everyone says rFactor2 ffb is amazing but how can I tell if that weird thing I feel is supposed to be there? Would be good to see what the wheel does in different situations and how settings affect that.

I'm not much of an expert on FFB, I use fanatec recommended settings and have slightly tweaked them for my liking. Rf2 can be a bit snappy injuries possible with high powered wheels just lower FFB a touch you should be OK

I've been on RF2 this morning and I've had a look at assigning a button "back to pit" it appears you cannot. I would be scared of that button on my wheel.
