Don't Go Buy (New) - DIY! Follow along as Autumn from The Flipper's Guide teaches you the tricks to getting the best long lasting finish, while rescuing an old thrifted wood cutting board. Wood cutting boards are the best all-around material for a cutting board, they are forgiving to your knife edge meaning they stay sharper longer, and according to a University of Wisconsin study bacteria has a lower survival rate on wood than plastic, aka wood cutting boards, are more sanitary than plastic, and they also add to the aesthetic of your home. Also, wetting the board before final sanding is called raising the grain! Very pro tip from you! What a great and obvious well loved board by the previous owner... Now it's totally ready for many more years of great use! Nicely done!
GREAT RESTORE! FYI... A power Planer would work for this board fine, but DO NOT plane and engrain cutting board! It will separate the grains and chip out the trailing edge as it goes through! Hand planing is fine on end grain, but not power planing!
Note, because of its nature, you can never fully santize wood.
I actually did a full refinish of sanding it down so hopefully that helps too 🙌🏼 Be sure to check out the full video for all the details

Looks better before, that yellow look to it is not pleasant, so much so rather see it trashed.
No worries, we all have our own opinions. The before was literally stained from years of use so couldn’t keep that 🤷🏼♀️Be sure to watch to the very end. The yellow look is more from the lighting and when it was placed in my kitchen you can see a more accurate color ☺️

Does it feel like leather now? Just seems this wouldn't be viable for a daily couch
It feels like a pleather. I probably wouldn’t do it to a living room couch where you lounge but it’s a perfect solution for chairs or loungers that are used less.

I really liked the before because it was so unique! But, if it’s not selling, then you have to rethink your vision. I like the blue redo! I would like to see some feet on it. The paint seems like a very user friendly product which is nice. Great job! 🦋

@@TheFlippersGuidethat’s all I can find too. eBay has a listing and it’s 17”. It looks like the center actually screws together and it’s a storage container. A website has pictures of an adult sitting on one when I googled idee berry stool red. It looks like that’s it for sure.
