As someone who’s looking to sell jets in the range of 5 mil-20 mil. What are the standard commission percentages for a broker selling/ representing these type of jets?

Hey! I just found your content recently. I'm reaching out as a university student currently living in British Columbia, Canada. I've been becoming more and more interested in Private Jet Brokering and all the details that come with becoming a savvy jet broker. As I'm still a student, I'm looking to start off as a freelancer in the Jet Broker business to help build the connections and experience over-time which I believe will set me up for a career in this field once I graduate. I've been wondering if you'd be willing to connect and guide me to the right path, as someone with minimal knowledge and no experience in selling private jets.
These escrow transactions should be only taken in Aviation related escrows or we can use conventional escrows to proceed transactions?

Aircraft post says avionic upgrades usually don’t payoff in the resell market. He cites many examples where x sells the same as y with different packages. Although these are super mids. Perhaps light jets are a different animal
I would agree with that. VREF devalues avionics upgrades depending on how recently they were installed. By a few years it doesn’t move the needle mucj
@@theultimatejetguide With the amount of time I put in reading this stuff I should probably just become a broker. I’m such a nerd, I read so much about maintenance inspections, different MRO’s, avionics upgrades from proline 4 to 21 and wingtip installations. I spend countless hours in Controller and other sites. Constantly trying to calculate cost advantages or disadvantages to being on MSP vs not. Trying to find shop pricing from various providers. Why? Who knows, I enjoy it. lol

Interesting point of view on the cover letter. I just saw a LinkedIn post today from another recruiter that said he doesn't even read them! Great interview and information.
Thanks @jeff. Yeah, I imagine every recruiter and industry is different. I would imagine MOST brokerages would read the cover letter, simply because the volume of applicants is lower than typical "corporate jobs". At the same time, by attaching a cover letter, even if HR doesn't read it off the bat, later down the road HR or a manager may want further insight to the candidate which the Cover Letter could provide.
This was packed with great info for resumes in 2024 and aspiring jet brokers. The 6 sec breakdown makes sense and is a real gem and new view point.

What’s the commission rate?
Commission rates vary per deal. ON average we look for 4%-6% based on sales price.

Awesome! Yes, as you get a listings buyers are provided. We start with a list and sell model and then you get access to buyers to assist.
If you really need to get there on time, go elsewhere.. Fleet availability of 53% not going to get you there on time
Do we have to provide pilots & crews to charter company? I think as fixed cost we have to pay for Insurance , Hanger fee, Management & Subscriptions. Please correct me if I am wrong.
No. Charter operator will provide all that. You're right in terms of what fixed costs usually include.

I hate schemes!!!! The scaling aspect of Jet Life Aero was created so that agents have the option to stay within the ecosystem to build their team. If they want to leave and start their own thing and not focus on recruiting that's totally fine. :-)

In a transaction like this how many times did you meet face to face? It seems to me a lot of aircraft sales is more over the phone then pounding the pavement the Real Estate.
Every transaction is different. Most of the steps can be coordinated by a broker remotely. In person is a good touch and adds to the professionalism of the deal, but that in person meeting can occur at any time during the deal.
